Kaleb Young is pure eyeball test for me. He steadily progressed throughout high school, and by his SR year he was dominating people, including turning a close loss to Mike Labriola into an easy takedown, cradle, Pin at Super 32. The same Labriola who one year later beats Penn state top 10 recruit and world medalist Wittlake at WHOS Number 1. I just happen to think he has the talent to AA, he doesn't need to be a champ for the Iowa team to be successful.I don't disagree with the lineup and this isn't against you LAX, but I am not that quite seeing the upside you do. I still see possible holes at 141,149,174,184 that I feel too many on this seeboard AA's where they aint. Too many are way over their skies on Kaleb Young for one. I like the kid, glad hes in the room and like his character but what has he ever done to make anyone think he will ever AA? Id say out of the 4 weights I mentioned that Happel and Murin have the best chance to AA given their pedigree and current talent level. I don't see it for Turk and I don't see it for Wilcke. Although I do think they will be good starters and definatly win some duals for us, they hardly shout big NCAA tourney points.
Bottom line is this staff desperately needs to land Warner and finish off this class that Spencer Lee started with a bang. In the past 6-7 years this staff has failed 90% to get that extra elite guy to hammer down the class. Only exception was Skon and that was tough to take. IMO Warner will be a pretty dominant 197. Finish this out please because you are fooling yourself if you think Kaleb Youngs of the world are going keeping pace at the NCAA's with what Cael and Tom Ryan are recruiting. Sorry to burst your bubble but I hope this staff isn't as content with some lesser kids as some on this board are.
