Was there something going on with Chucky Hepburn and a courtside fan?

Bardo suggested something to that effect.

Maybe this was covered in the game thread.

I sure don't know but the pbp guy's suggestion of giving a tech to the home team seemed very misguided.

How about instead the justice be meted out to the fan? Hank his a$$.

Most court side fans are respectful but you get the occasional shit talking enema bag wearing an ugly designer jacket and white “tennis shoes” who gestures frequently and thinks every jump ball tie-up is a flagrant foul.

It’s simultaneously ridiculous and somewhat funny …. funny because it’s usually some skinny pencil-necked overpaid corporate nerd (or some fat slob) who couldn’t dribble a basketball down a driveway who is taunting the athletes on the court.

Warn them once then show em the door.

I’m not sure who that guy is on the opposite side of the Hawkeye bench, but he’s always standing and clapping and yelling at the refs and opposing players

From my observations Chucky seems like a good sport on the floor.
No trash talking, extending his hand to help Hawks up from the floor a couple of times.
Tough competitor, yes.
Dirty? No.
He had one of his better games yesterday...shot better than normal.

I heard someone calling his name once play resumed after he missed the two free throws but I didn't hear what else the guy said. Didn't notice any reaction from Hepburn.

More like embarrassing
No, this is embarrassing..

I see this all the time at Carver.

18:18 2nd half. After a rally to tie the game at 47. Wisky trying to score, ball poked away, Freeman recovers.

Tony makes the shot, putting us ahead. Critical moment. Even some bench players motioning to get up.

Look at all the people in the stands behind the state farm ad. Not many standing / making noise. Some are just sitting motionless. Is this the infamous knitting crowd?

Maybe some don't stand because they are the old entitled fat asses. Maybe some won't stand because that's the culture in this section.

THAT is emabarrasing.

Pathetic, I think I count 22 empty seats in the lower level alone.

Bardo doesn't like the Hawks for some reason...he sounds like a fan of the opposing team a lot of the time.
He graduated from Illinois (played on some very good teams) and the rivalry was pretty intense during those years. He used to mask his disdain for Iowa, not so much anymore.

Apathy is alive and well. Too many years of unmet expectations or year end failures.

It looks like a bunch of reasonable adults who don't get emotional about college kids playing basketball.

If it was Gasser I think he's worn thin on several announcers due to the proximity of his seats to where the announcers sit. It might be the chatter, or maybe they don't like him standing up so much and blocking the view. I have noticed given who sits with him that he seems to be auditioning #3 or #4 according to who you ask, so, he might have some abrasive qualities.

Didn't Dave Revsine call out Gasser big time during one game while on the call, saying he kept missing game action because "the fan 'right next to us' keeps obstructing my view of the court on that end"?

DR was being as cool and pc about it as possible, but you could tell he was pissed and wanted to yell at Gasser to get & stay the **** out of his viewing angle.

And if I remember right, Gasser thought he was totally awesome because of it when it was brought up on the boards after said game.
