WBB Transfer Portal Targets 2025-2026

▪️Gianna Kneepkens - out of Utah
▫️6’0 guard
▫️19.3 PPG | 5.0 RPG | 3.0 APG | 44.8% 3PT
▫️1 year of eligibility remaining
▫️2024-25 All-Big 12 First Team

She plays pretty good defense as well.
Her offensive and defensive ratings tell me she going to get a hefty bag.

Gopher board says she has a do not contact designation.

A little surprised they are looking at the shorter guard, but haven't seen her play, so might have to check out her game.

I actually disagree with this. It is certainly the end of an era and damned shame for most of us old farts, but I think it will ignite an era of major stardom for collegiate athletes and renewed excitement for power five fanbases who have not been traditional blue bloods. Anything can happen now.
I don’t know, the whole idea of giving an 18-19 year old kid a million dollars 💵 or more is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of.

I know my eyes are bad but give me a break. You give her the ball and that’s last you’ll
see it. Drives towards the basket and then just flings it up hoping to get a foul. She’s too short to do this and is a turnover machine. Hopefully she will learn to slow down and play TEAM ball!🏀
Yep…A LONG WAY TO GO.

Just a quick scroll through who Jada Williams is following on instagram..

-Tania Davis
-Stuelke
-McCabe

No clue if those are new follows or not..

Possible that McCabe and Williams played/met before in a Nebraska/Missouri event? Since Williams is from KC..

Or Maybe Stuelke and McCabe hosted the visit.

And I have argued against any high schooler getting NIL, money from a college, booster etc. The whole scotus ruling on NIL is about getting paid/money after proving yourself in your sport in college. I really wish they would make any NIL to high schoolers who havent earned anything outlawed with big penalties.

The court ruling was the exact opposite of what you stated

She now follows
Raina
Jan and
Iowa Wbb

Jan doesn’t follow her yet.. so she went out of her way to follow Jan opposed to hitting follow back on a follow request.

Is it assumed that since Jada Williams visited she has an offer? I would think so, but it's not always clear.
I would also assume unless they thought their would be problem's. This girl is a star. Same game as hannah hildago. Not there at all yet though. 2 years left. Her passion is unquestionable.

I don't know if she is all about money. She starred in a show. Has over 700,000 Instagram followers. She seems to be all about the team imo. So big +

Yeah, I am all for it. I think it would be a win-win for both parties for many reasons. We need more dawgs on our team and I think she will provide that as well and the rest will follow. Also, she played for the same EYBL program as Addie Deal (Cal Stars), but I don’t know if they know each other.

Side note: People have been commenting on her social media to not come to Iowa. I think it will also help our recruiting in the future if we land her and she has a positive experience.

I would be thrilled with her coming to Iowa.

I think getting her on campus does well to counter a lot of negative recruiting. Great time of year to be in Iowa City. It's probably obvious Jensen didn't hesitate to invite her, and a nice sign (for her interest, and in general) that Williams didn't hesitate to take a look!

I think it was pretty clear Iowa would need an experienced ball handler next season, so its good to see Jensen knows how important that will be to balance the younger players.

Eliminating the pressing defenses, running to score might be a key to further success. Need guards that can dribble and attack.

Check the comments— Let’s drown out the hate.

The hate in the comments is sickening..
The hypocrisy is so bad.

Edit: the hashtag round one tells me this decision won’t come quick.

It's only been 1 hr and she's already got more likes (~32k) on this Iowa post than any of her nine photos on her page (next highest is 25.5k). There's ~40 to 1 ratio of likes to comments. Even if all the comments are bad, and they're not, the likes dwarf them. Hell, some of those pics are fashion in nature and we're 2x+ those likes. WINNING!

They need a scorer first, regardless of position. Right now the hope is Deal can be 20 pts+, but can't ride all chips in that. I don't see any of the younger players getting a consistent 10+ other than maybe Heiden given the minutes. The hope is that they can develop some of that, but I imagine we would have seen more points from the freshmen in flashes to indicate that.

Potential for a really rough season next year unless they find a player.
Ava is a 20-10 gal if she stays out of foul trouble. She can be a machine for us

Arizona WBB season ticket holder here -- I've seen every one of Jada Williams's games either live or on TV. She is a hard nosed competitor. Adia Barnes gave her the keys to the offense the moment she stepped on campus as a freshman. Offensively, she is an excellent FT shooter, has a good mid-range pullup, struggled from the 3 point arc and is a decent ball handler. She is not very explosive 1 on 1 and is average at best in creating her own shot. She has a tendency to hold the ball and pound the dribble. Defensively, she is a fighter -- in Arizona's system you have to be able to play full court pressure defense and Jada embraced that role. She probably led the team in charges drawn, taking at least 1 or 2 per game. You can't question her heart -- she will give you 100% effort. She basically played 35 minutes a night for two years. This season she was banged up but rarely missed time. She did sit out the post season WBIT game but I think she had already made up her mind to transfer. She was made a team captain this season as a sophomore -- Arizona was a young team with 10 Fr/So.

From her HS rankings standpoint, she was up there in 4-5 star territory.

Jada rated #21 in Class of 2023 on ESPN.

Has many NIL deals already.

5-star 2023 point guard Jada Williams flips from UCLA to Arizona women's basketball

However from her stats, needs some work. Maybe they played her wrong. That coach in AZ is a A1 dipshit. So maybe a diamond in the rough for us? Was 1st a UCLA commit so there's that.

EDIT:
Ah-ha! Thinking this is the smoking gun on her. Her defense is pretty good!
Her DRtg is 89.7. Kylie got better on defense every year and is at 93.2 this year. Jada's defense rates better than Kylie.
Now it makes sense why Jan wants her. Looks like another potential lock-down defender as well!
Obviously whoever made the comment about the the Arizona WBB Coach has no knowledge of WBB. Adia Barnes took over a dumpster fire -- worst program in the Pac 12 at the time with barely any fans in the stands. In five years took an undersized team to the NCAA Championship game losing by 1 to Stanford, a team they had lost to earlier in the season by 27 points. The problem Arizona has is no NIL money -- Football and Men's BB gets it all and the athletic department was horribly financially mismanaged. If Jada comes to Iowa, you will get a player who is a heck of lot better player than she was when she came on campus as a freshman and one who knows how to play pressure defense.
