Wegher making a mark

This development should forever end any speculation about whether or not stevenpatrick is a stooge. His "inside info" is bogus and his judgment is seriously stunted. I could cite many examples but I'll mention the two most recent:

Exhibit A: Started a thread and proclaimed "Sean Welsh is done with football"

Fact: Sean Welsh is on the Iowa roster and will likely play vs. ISU today.

Exhibit B: Long standing claim that Brandon Wegher is over-rated and has never accomplished anything worth noting.

Fact: Brandon Wegher established multiple school records at SC Heelan, holds the Iowa HS single season rushing record, holds the record for TDs by an Iowa freshman RB, holds the NAIA single season rushing record, and now .........Brandon Wegher is a professional football player. Under-achiever. From the Charlotte Observer:

"Wegher, who made the team after spring’s rookie minicamp, worked his way from the bottom of the running back depth chart at the start of training camp onto the final roster."
Sean Welsh was on his way out when I posted what I did. The circumstances changed shortly after that post. There are plenty here that can verify this. I have also broken plenty of bball and fball news, including the fates of Hampton, Wegher, and ARob before the general public new, as well as Hubbard's situation on the bball team. There is more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Sean Welsh was on his way out when I posted what I dId

No he wasn't - Welsh was on authorized leave of absence.

"on his way out" is a weasel phrase that someone would use when they lack concrete information about the situation (but decides to post as fact it in a public forum anyway).

The circumstances changed shortly after that post

Nothing changed. He never gave a change of status notice to the coaches, he never forfeited his scholarship, and he returned from his leave of absence to join the team. He was never "done with football" as you proclaimed. "Done" denotes a finality, an end, a point of no return. Welsh was not done. He played in the season opener.

Your "breaking news" claim has already been refuted numerous times by other board members, no need to rehash all that again.

He was actively seeking a change in colleges when I posted when I did. He was done with Iowa football. Then the circumstances changed. I know multiple people in the football and athletic department that have shared this with me. And who do you know? Besides the Wegher family?

I want to believe that stevenpatrick is just trolling hard. However, there are people that agree with steven's sentiments.

Guess what steven?! I live in Sioux City and there are people here who agree with you. That has to make you lessen your hate for Western Iowa a little bit. Doesn't it?

1. Your claim has been proven false. Concoct as many stories as you want.

2. I'm not impressed with your sources.

It's very flattering that so many posters here spent their Labor Day weekends on here thinking about me. Sorry that I was on vacation over the long weekend (without a personal chef this time) and wasn't able to respond to each and every post. Now that I am back in Seattle, here is my crow eat, I suppose.

Congratulations to Wegher, who was a Hawkeye for one sole year before quitting because he didn't get preferential treatment. And to celebrate this great accomplishment of making the last roster spot on the team, as well as steamrolling guys that were, on average, 4 years younger than him while competing at Morningside, I will link a great summary article of his accomplishments after he left Iowa. Events include him getting arrested for beating up his own brother and also running from the cops in Council Bluffs while drunk. Keep in mind, these both happened after he became a father. Western Iowa Hawkeye posters, is this who you really want to keep as your idol? http://www.dailyiowan.com/2012/03/22/Sports/27530.html

Oh really? You couldn't respond? Is that why you have looked at this thread a couple of times today?

Why did you wait until now to respond? You looked at this very thread this morning and this afternoon.

You know, I can forgive an idiot. I can't forgive someone who flat out lies.

Your crow tastes like duck...

I'm curious to hear what happened with the Hubbard situation. Since you already spilled the info, you won't mind telling us what events led to his dismissal??

Thanks in advance

Hey SP, I don't recall anyone on here saying they Idolized BW, just wishing him some success at the next level. There is a big difference between Idolizing someone and hoping they make a NFL team and have some success along the way, but go ahead and think what you want on the subject.
