True. Republicans own the vast majority of small businesses and employ a large portion of the middle class.

In short, nothing.

Whereas Democrats did some great things. Like expanding student loan programs, which gave middle class students the biggest chance in life at upward mobility. Everyone loves to curse their student loans, but in retrospect I consider mine to have been a blessing. As a middle class kid, I never would have gotten to where I am now without them.

I assume DOGE is going to gut all federal student aid, including the student loan programs. It’s just a giant middle finger to the middle class (how appropriate).

Fewer taxes going to DC. Fewer taxes going to Baton Rouge. More money in my pocket. And then there’s a host of cultural issues where the republicans in Louisiana have fought for normal middle class values (and won).

Baton Rouge could probably benefit from more taxes. Louisiana is one of the worst states to live in by most metrics.

I and my neighbors don’t seem to be hurting 😉, and we would probably be doing about as well in any other state. Louisianians who fail at life simply don’t put out the effort.
