If Trump doesn't make it to the election, does JD Vance become the GOP candidate, or do they pick someone else?

Speaking of tick tick tick, he's on stage rn talking about tic tacs. And the crowd goes silent. How does he think this will fix his campaign? Holding up tic tacs?
Is he actually talking about tic tacs or is he mispronouncing TikTok?
Trump would never drop out. His ego is too large and he's terrified of going to prison.
