Whoopi Goldberg on The View about Angel Reese

Yep, and when Reese was worrying about putting the crown on the chair CC was preparing for the game.

This goes back to having people in her life that teach her correctly. Both the parent and the coach should not allow a player to bring a crown into the arena. Sometimes I think Mulkey was fed up with some of the attitudes on her team and she let them self destruct. Maybe Mulkey is teaching her a life lesson.

Edit, not sure if I had a Freudian slip there or not.

Interesting thread. Got one poster saying she deserves it. Two now who imply she’s lying. One saying everybody gets them so it’s no big deal. Hoping none of them have daughters.
I know, I know, she's black in todays neoNazi America so death threats are common place, right tarheel?🤪

If someone is getting death threats, my advice would be to tone down your actions when in the public eye. But that can be the age of the person.

Wasn’t it Don Imus who referred to a women’s national championship team on his radio show as “nappy-haired hos” or something to that effect?

Most likely, you’re addressing Trump supporters who do not understand the impact public figures saying stupid shit can have on others. Yes, Angel Reese is a 20-year-old who has some growing up to do—I know, a rarity with college kids. The fact she posed for an SI swimsuit shoot and a year later is talking about being sexualized is a pretty good indicator she has yet to fully mature (since science shows us the human brain does not fully develop until mid to late 20s that should be obvious to anyone with a functioning brain beyond the level of a prokaryote).

But, Angel Reese got a little cocky and full of herself (kinda like her head coach—the crazy white lady), and had the audacity to do it while black, so therefore she deserves every bad thing that comes her way. Oh, but nothing bad has come her way, because there’s no credible link proving or disproving her veracity, which clearly means she is making false claims while black, even though she deserves the death threats, if they were credible but there’s no proof of them, so Angel Reese should just “shut up and dribble,” because the real victim here is Donald Trump, who, as you well know, has been treated “so unfairly,” because all he’s ever done in life is tell the truth and sacrifice of himself for the greater good like Jesus did. If Angel Reese could just be as humble and truthful as Donald Trump (and change her sex and her skin color from black to orange) then she wouldn’t have these problems.

Signed,

Every Dumb **** MAGAt
I say she be pulling a Jussie

I wonder how much of the anger in this thread springs from anger that a 21 year old black woman is already worth more money than some of the scribblers posting here will make in their entire lives by a factor of 3-4?

None.

Guessing most peoples list of favorite athletes likely has more black people on it vs white people.

I get tired of the race card getting played when discussing the douche factor of a person.

Are we allowed to say Draymond Green is an Ahole without being called a racist?

Are black people allowed to think Ryan Leaf was a punk?

My guess is Reese was planning on wearing that crown if they won to take taunting to another level.

Reese wears the same crown during every game’s starting lineup introductions, and she also placed one on LSU’s bench before Saturday’s Sweet 16 win over UCLA.

Though it was nothing out of the ordinary from Reese, that didn’t stop fans from speculating that it was meant to play mind games with Clark and Iowa.

Man, that girl got in your heads.

Like that matters. If anything it further illustrates the contrast of the villain and the victim.

I'm very sorry that you have been victimized your entire life. Hopefully you catch a break some day and don't get all angry and triggered so easily.

What disappointed me re: Angel’s postgame was the fact that she was obviously “using” the media here….She came out initially (Post 2023 Championship game AS ROUGH AND TOUGH and on top of the world……now she is down and out and chooses the “victim card”….She has to learn to be one or the other and playing both ends against the middle…….Tghe easiest way to do this (I would think) is to learn to control your emotions and find a middle ground and stay there…..don’t get too high (cocky) and don’t get too low (victim)….Life is a learning experience, especially for those 20somethings out there…..That’s a lesson that could be learned by some here, too. ;)

This doesn't help her cause. Imagine Clark carrying her Naismith trophy around and having it displayed on the iowa bench every game, then playing the victim card after every loss.

It was stupid to do against UCLA too. The fact that it is nothing out of the ordinary for her is an interesting topic. Imagine if CC did that...wow. I mentioned something in an earlier post about self-reflection and that actions have consequences, some you will like and others you won't. AR is getting lessons in that. People tend to ignore lack of sportsmanship and immature actions when you're winning. Not so much when you're losing.

I'd like to meet the fans that thought the crown was place on the LSU bench to intimidate CC. Is Catlin afraid of tieras?

Mulkey dos does not teach life lessons.
Newspaper article was/is killing her to where she threatens to sue.
Trouble has followed her from Baylor to LSU.
Unless you mean by that per se.

AR chose the school and coach. If her parents, school, and coach are allowing her to do whatever she wants, then this is what you end up with. She brought a crown to the game, think about that, who does that? The parents didn't care, the coach didn't care, and school doesn't care. The school is only worried about them being at the National Anthem.

This just proves my point. Why would any coach or even university allow her to bring a crown. She's had poor guidance and she's now dealing with it. She needs to be mad at the people she calls "friends and family" because they failed her.

I'm not the one making excuses for a 22 year old.
I can accept heat of passion/heat of the moment for doing something dumb... I bet deep down CC might regret doing the Cena hand gesture as brief and non targeted as it was compared to AR's actions.

If AR simply made that Cena gesture after a play none of this is even discussed from any angle. AR went way beyond that and went 500% more with the ring finger gesture (multiple times) and then stalking CC around the court and not only showed no regret for it, but defended it, then the race baiters jumped in and said the only issue was AR is black and defended it too.

After the facts of both games one handled it with grace, at least publicly. Once the roles were reversed, the cat turned into the mouse for everyone to see.

It's sad that good basketball got twisted into race. Are we going to go after Gabby for being interracial or Hannah for having white parents? This country is f'd up and I guess the bandage has been torn wide open. Racism never went away and now like a shit soup keeps bubbling to the top. Disgusting.
Things were going in a very good direction in the 70’s and 80’s for racial harmony in America.
Then the race hustlers who made money and fame needed to re-create issues using a brand new platform called social media.
And away we go.

You mean things like turnover chains, etc? Yeah, that's pretty out there.

I would guess hundreds of thousands of people get death threats via social media everyday.

It’s no longer “wow worthy”. Frankly, I don’t take them seriously at all.

How many celebs have gotten death threats on social media and did in fact get murdered?
You receive death threats? Not surprising to be honest. So brave.
