Who's ready to give up beef?

Yes. I use those a lot. I am not Vegan, just vegetarian. I have eggs and dairy some, mainly from a small amount of cottage cheese per day.
I’ve consulted on chickpea acres in the past. Pain in the ass to grow.

So many so afraid of change and threatened

Like little school girls

Awwwwww....bless their hearts

You do because you are fat.
Wrong. Our agrarian ancestors consumed lots of such foods and were quite trim compared to present day. They weren't eating processed junk.

Beef, like many other forms of organic matter we shovel down our gullets can be quite health promoting if it isn't processed trash.

In a choice between global instability and eating less hamburgers, I think the latter choice is quite obvious for most non mouth-breathers.
Jesus. I am sure the point has already been made as I didn’t read through the thread; but you truly believe eating hamburgers is worse for the environment than those that don’t? I understand the latter scream more; but it is comical how little they know about things

It's the methane that is released from cows. It doesn't have anything to do with personal health. You know this, right?

Yes. I grew up raising cattle and hogs, and sorta smart. Both sides of this argument reach too far. It’s like the idiots that think electric cars have zero admission but don’t consider how hard it is to make the batteries.

Indeed. Like I said, sorta smart. And just trying to figure out this iPhone voice stuff.l

Edit to add- I try to just post on sports and betting threads; but when I drink too much I add my 2 cents. No offense meant so I apologize ahead of time to anyone

They were doing manual labor 12 hours a day. It's true they didn't have sugars for the most part. Processed junk is a big problem, and most meat going through Tyson or Smithfield? Lol.

So the real problem is lifestyle, not necessarily the beef.

Don’t worry after beef they will come for pork then chicken then fish. Climate alarmists want everyone to live as miserable as they live on a daily basis.
I think it is mostly the vegetarians and animal rights people who feel everyone should live like they do who are driving this as well.

I offer this thread as example. And I completely agree there is always a next and pork could be that target.

The only point I was making is if people got meat from closer to their homes and ate less of it overall, it would be better for the environment and for their personal health.

Is that not just objectively true?

Most people will have to eventually.

It won’t happen in my lifetime.

California would first have to outlaw meat. They don’t even have the guts so you can forget about the rest of the planet.

Maybe we should start by auditing everybody’s life in terms of cars, travel, house(s), etc. my guess is most are doing far more damage with those items vs a hamburger.

We currently allow people to travel via planes and boats for no reason except pleasure. Think of all the carbon used on planes and cruise ships and all the concrete and infrastructure built to support them. Any you want to deny people a hamburger. Lol.

The rich will just travel to a place and eat meat away from the laws.

Interesting take from someone who lost their mind over Big Ten expansion.

Yeah, I lost my mind. I stopped paying for season tickets and go to only a few games a year to see old friends from Burge.

You are such a drone. Whats it like to be sleepwalking through life and doing whatever is given to you?

You have any spine or independent thought? At all? Ever?

You have to be a horrible person to be around in real life.

Can’t we just outfit cattle with a device that captures their methane and converts it to hydrogen? That way we have a renewable energy source for our vehicles and I can continue enjoying ribeye steaks without feeling guilty about the world we’re leaving behind for our grandchildren.
