Why McCaffery brothers left Iowa

Nope, I thought they were a good get. But I never ever thought they'd be first round picks, either of them.

So the person receiving the money isn't enough? Got it. Perhaps we can get the Western Union transfer report with the pinky promise made to transfer the money. Would that work?
He said the money was coming from Iowa boosters. It wasn’t. That’s the part that I said was bullshit. He or you haven’t supplied any evidence whatsoever. So again, Stop making shit up !

I think you’re pretty much spot on. He’s a good coach. But not a great coach. With Iowa’s recruiting and budget challenges you need a Lute Olson, Ralph Miller, or Dr. Tom to a lesser extent to have above average success here.
Or a TJ Otzelberger.

Total bullshit. Stop making stuff up. Anyone can make shit up. Give us the names of the Iowa boosters or admit you are making shit up.
You are one desperately pathetic dude.

There are a lot of ways to get money to people. Is Iowa doing the bag man cash approach? Nope, do they figure out ways to get money to players through supporters of the program? Certainly and it goes way back and has never gone away. How is another story all together. Iowa was booted out of the B1G a long long time ago for booster payments. It's not a new thing and it's not unique. Should I go ask the football players that I 'worked with' in the summer? Saw them on day 1 and then maybe I would see them picking up their paycheck. As far as the work part unless they were working remotely in times before that was a thing then somehow, someway they earned a check.
Call it an agent, call it a booster, things got done. Keep fighting you might find something you have correct but it certainly isn't 'boosters don't make sure players have money'

Lol, you are just making shit up, again !

You haven’t provided any evidence/facts whatsoever . Enjoy gossiping much ?
Hmmm, ‘worked’ with players. Saw players for about 30 minutes for the entire summer. Players got paid every week.
Odd that all the non football players had to show up for work every day to get paid. Call it a double standard, gossip, etc. it is what it is.

Forgive me but there was a paywall when I went to the link. Not going to pay for just one post.
Reading through this thread no one has really said what the article said the reason was.
Would someone please post the reason why?
Thanks

He over played them. Played them over players with more talent. He played Connor at pg, he wasn't. By year 5 he was point forward who still could not shoot. Patrick hung around the outside, was not an asset on defense or rebounding at 6'9" with 5 years in the program. It's not a mystery to me why Jack is not coming to Iowa or why Patrick left Iowa with time left. You add a disaster on the streets of Iowa City, the fish bowl gets small fast and it does not appear that Fran is long for it either.
I just find it odd that Fran & Margaret sold their former home and purchased a new home just 6 months ago. Seems like an odd decision if you're planning to move out of the area in a fairly short window of time.

I believe he sold a large house, maybe harder to sell, in N Liberty. Bought a smaller house in Manville Heights, maybe easier to sell, if he needs out quickly.

Yes,, I am and said so a couple of years ago. Mama bear was tired of the "abuse" she believed Cmac and Pmac received from Iowa fans, which she stated publicly several times. Jack was NEVER coming to play at Iowa.
Can you link those public comments? I have seen speculation(rumors and gossip) but no public record. Thank you in advance for your help with this.

I'm not good at coming up with links. The one was posted on this site. It was on the podcast that Cmac and Pmac hosted and they had Mama bear on as a guest. She was very critical of comments made on various platforms (from Iowa fans supposedly) about their playing time and poor play. A lot of the same stuff that was said on this site. Frankly I could sympathize with her to a point, but that just comes with the territory when Dads the head coach of a D1 program. They should have ALL stayed off of social media, but just didn't happen and Mama's got a bigger red ass then Fran from all accounts. It was obvious sometime ago that Jack would not be following in his brothers footsteps...

Starts talking about this at the 44:44 mark. She said the negative fans are in the minority. She said that she takes all negative comments about any of the player’s personally, especially her sons. She also said that she doesn’t want her sons getting into coaching.

She also says something to the effect that Iowa fans don't know how basketball works.

Apparently she feels we should all stay in our lane and keep our ignorant opinions to ourselves.

When you are a multi millionaire and one of the richest in the area: buying and selling doesn’t matter

Who said they were planning on leaving the area besides disgruntled fans.

No, the house he bought is enormous and they put several hundred thousand $$ to remodel it. It was Nate Keading's old house above Mayflower on the bluff. I think it was about $1.2m .

Raveling was probably the best recruiter Iowa ever had. Lute did well with a banged up squad getting to the final 4. Ralph had that great team that averaged over 100 pts per game.
Raveling had a couple good years getting guys to IOWA.

Wonder why this talent didn’t translate to his years at USC with all the players in his back yard in LA?
