Let's not underestimate CC's supporting cast. Some of those losses occurred when Molly and other's weren't 100%. After the goofer beatdown, this team seems to be peaking.

Of course we're going to take a step back. We're losing the greatest player in the history of Iowa basketball, and 2 other 1000 point scorers. We have some very solid players plus Hannah is a star in the making over the next 2 years. I'm expecting us to hover around the top 25 at least. And we've got some really good recruits coming in.
Yeah I honestly don’t get it. It’s like these guys want there to be issues. We have rebounding, better defense, better offense, already played and beat teams with 3 great centers and here we still are…
Super odd!
I mean it certainly won't be easy, but obviously making a Final 4 never is. I mean our 2nd round game against GA last year was a dogfight. Sweet 16 and elite 8 we just played lights out and offensively we were unbelievable. VA Tech lost last night, so if we can beat Ohio St this weekend that's a big game for seeding. Obviously we'll get Indiana probably and Ohio St again. We can work our way up to a 1 seed very easily again. I'd like to at least get off the 7 overall and get to a 4-5, and the crowd this weekend is going to be insane. Sweet 16 and elite 8 CC is obviously going to have be superman and Hannah stay out of foul trouble and Martin get 20. Marshall cannot disappear, and if she does she needs replaced quickly. Molly a bit of an X factor. I like the fact that McCabe is at least getting minutes and getting some confidence in case she's needed.
That implies ESPN will not be able to match them up with LSU as quick as they can in the tourney for TV purposes.
Really as I look things over, statistically tOSU isn’t better than us. Not that I thought they were. We should have won that last game. But rebounding, shooting %, 3pt%, assists, etc…..even TOs is about even 13.4 us, 13.2 them…

Hope I'm wrong but after watching IU game I'm not. They run in to a long team, and they will, good luck.

Dude you’ve been wrong multiple times this year already….LOL they’ve already played elite teams with height and beat them. Is this the twilight zone?
It could mean a favorable path to get there though. Like avoiding South Carolina until the championship game if they were to get that far.
I'm sure they will do everything they can to put Iowa, LSU, and SC in different regions.
I’m routinely baffled how fans compartmentalize things. I mean we actually have a guy here @goodbyebobby who says we can’t defend height based on the IU game, you know the same IU we beat by 27 earlier?
We were 38% from the field & 5-29 from 3 pt range, WTH?! Wouldn’t you have thought that would have been a bigger problem to focus on on, From a team that shoots 50% plus from the field, 3rd in the nation and 38% from 3, good for 8th.

I would be thrilled if they were an Elite 8 team. But all it takes is one off night, one bad matchup, or one opponent to get hot....and it's over.
Last year was magical and everything just came together at the right time. Can it happen again? Maybe. The odds are probably against it, but when you have Caitlin Clark...anything is possible!
The only way I would be disappointed is if the Hawks don't make the Sweet 16. Not upset, just disappointed. Anything after that is icing on the cake (to me).

That crew should NEVER be allowed to do any game after the opening round AGAIN!!!!!
This team will not make the E8 unless they're very, very lucky.

You’ve also not watched enough basketball to know any team, that gets to the elite 8 (just like last year) has to get a little lucky.
You also apparently aren’t aware every team except SouthCarolina, the big favorite, all have issues they’ll have to get past to make the elite 8 and we have the 3rd best odds to win it all…
Outside of IU, K-st and Va Tech….there aren’t that many better centers out there with solid guard play too, that we will face any sooner than the elite 8….
So again, I greatly question your “prowess” as a WBB prognosticator…just sayin’
This current team is a significantly better rebounding team and much more diverse when it comes to scoring. Also a better defensive team than last year as well…..so seriously you aren’t watching, you are projecting!

I actually think they are more relaxed now than they have been for awhile.....at least that is what it looks like to me.
If they reach the Elite 8 it won't have to do with luck in my opinion. They will have earned it.
Yes, but the right draw helps. Been lots of great men’s basketball teams with several future NBAers upended early on, with the wrong draw!
Some of these guys are so stubborn about their doom & gloom. Liz Kilter and Ayokia Lee are studs and they have good guard play, but apparently they don’t count as “long” teams with good posts…..LOL

Well most all the metrics say differently and we’ve played an even tougher schedule. So again, you’ve clearly not watched enough basketball…
The reality is none of you actually realized… You made a snap judgment that losing Monica completely changed our team and if we didn’t replace her, we’d be in trouble….but we’ve been battle tested against teams with Big centers, again, we play better defense, again, we rebound better, again we have more diverse scoring again & we actually score more…
There isn’t anything you can come up with as far as metrics go, to prove your point…
Last year this team was CC, Monica and to a smaller degree Warnock…we have more options now.
I’ll listen to a good argument that can be buttressed with numbers, but I don’t see one out there…sorry Bob.
If they’re a 1 or a 2 seed that would not be the case. We’d be a favorite in any sweet 16 game.
