Your 2022 National Champs are...

For me, I guess I was a little triggered by questioning his passion. I don't know Abe and pretty sure you don't either, so why would we even speculate on it? I'm not in the know on what you are referencing about him not being all in previously, so there is obviously some disconnect there...
Ok...I'm just speculating I guess. Bottom line though, the kid at one point lost his passion for the sport and wanted to quit. In my opinion thats not easy to get back. I thought it when he signed with Iowa and I think it now. You people speculate about him being injured and thats ok but you have a problem with me speculating its something else...something deeper. Like I said, you guys only want to hear what you want to hear....

Btw, you post over on BWI, you give your opinion, both positive and negative when it comes to PSU. I'm asking, have I ever piss and moaned to you there if you said something negative against PSU? Have you and I ever had an argument about anything over there? Ya see, I'm not like the pansies you'll find here. You can say you don't think Joe Lee will ever AA there and I like hearing your opinion whether I agree with it or not. I don't cry because you're an Iowa fan and give honest thoughts and opinions there. I just don't...

You are correct. We have not had any arguments on BWI that I can recall. But, to be fair, you will probably have a hard time finding any negative posts from me about PSU(or any schools) wrestlers, coaches, or teams on either site. So there is that.

Rival fans posting here rarely works especially if that fan speaks truth that you guys dont really want to hear. Your mod here backed up what I'm saying because even too saw this place as being full of thin skinned people not wanting to hear reality. And now here you are, having a problem with what I posted. Why was that so offensive? Are you telling me you had absolutely no concerns when Assad signed on with Iowa? Or are you saying you'd rather not think about it or have it discussed here? I know when he did sign with Iowa, it was a rare case with me of Iowa getting a top recruit with it really not bothering me. Matter of fact, at the time I thought the Brands brothers might not be the best coaching staff for a kid that may not exactly be all in on the sport anymore.

But yeah, I see your point as well. You all want to hear from opposing fans only when we speak about things you want to hear or lay the praise down on your program. I get it...
You come across as the guy who gets cut off in traffic but loses his sh** and tailgates us home flashing your lights and laying on your horn the whole time.

Edit: I appreciate you're being more approachable, so I'm not trying to get tailgated home....That's really just how I see it.

You push back when there are assinine posts or when you see psu homers making unrealistic predictions about our wrestlers. You post your pics of Kem holding up the trophy and shit like that. I find the pushback from you always interesting and the pics funny. Most everyone there does. Always love the ohger sides perspective.

You cut a guy off in traffic and blame him for it and not yourself.

I gotcha...

Thanks for posting the article. Good read.

Completely off topic. But I did have a question for you(or any PSU fans lurking). I didn't post it on BWI because I was concerned that it could be received not in the way I intend.

I am curious as to who PSU fans think will have the better career between Bartlett and Van Ness, and why.

Obviously, both were top pfp and have very high ceilings. But, genuinely interested in what the PSU faithful are thinking.

Thats actually a great question and should be asked over on BWI. There are guys over there that really know there highschool wrestling, recruiting and probably better suited to evaluate prospects. Its actually an opinion i'd want to hear from Iowa fans as well. To get others thoughts.

Personally, it would be more a gut feeling than anything else for me although I kinda feel Van Ness may turn out to be a better mat wrestler. Also feel his ceiling is higher and Bartlett doesnt have as much room to become even better. If I had to choose one or the other going to PSU, I'd take Van Ness. Again, just a gut feeling. Happy we have both though. Lol

Same for me. Gut feeling is Bartlett is probably going to be much more consistent, especially early on. But Van Ness just seems to have that x factor that gives him unlimited potential.

I might be inclined to buy what you’re selling if every single one of your posts wasn’t a blatant attempt at trolling. You call people on this board thin skinned yet you’re clearly butt hurt about other posters not caring about or for what you think. Pot, meet kettle.

Try being less of a dick occasionally, and you might get a better response. Most on this board enjoy talking wrestling and we don’t care what school you support.

New rule. You can't post before 9am Central. Gotta give us time to get our morning caffeine fix....😴😴

BTW, I'm still holding out hope that you will some day decide to change tactics and join in worthwhile conversations over here on HR.

Not saying you should stop calling out the really asinine posts and posters(not my style, but I get it), because that ain't happening. But perhaps you could sprinkle in some quality wrestling talk once in awhile with those of us that are discussing wrestling.

And maybe, just maybe let go of some of the stuff that was said years ago....

*Debated on if I should even bother posting this as I had my coffee and breakfast. I have concerns that this thread could quickly turn into a dumpster fire, depending on how this plays out. If it does, my apologies to the OP.

In the end, I decided that if there was even a sliver of a chance to get your buy-in, it would be worth it.

Your choice, obviously, on next steps. I have always enjoyed the perspective of non-Hawkeye fans on HR and sincerely hope you decide give it a try.

I have yet to put anyone on the ignore list. Besides, @MorleysDawg (JTS) wouldnt be my first choice to block.

He has a sharp mind, and is passionate about his team. I respect that, even if I don't agree with how he interacts over here on HR.

Pretty sure that if we ended up sitting next to him at BIGs or NCAAs, we would have a great weekend giving each other shit and enjoying the wrestling.

Yeah, well, except for the fact that he was clearly injured last year as was alluded to in multiple interviews last year.

I can assure you with 100% certainty I will never be sitting close to that idiot. You go right ahead though.

Really appreciate tge kind words but wished you wouldnt have. Hell, you may be hated here now.

But seriously, hope you keep posting over on BWI. And hope others like you come over as well. To be honest, HR is the only board I ever had problems on. Just different here i guess. And Ive never had a problem with Hawk fans out in the real world. Even Max M. gotta kick out of the PSU ribbing I gave him when I stopped to talk to him during his run around Ebensburg when he was back for break.

So just so I am clear, a kid who had self doubts as a HS sophomore because he was cutting a ton of weight, wasn't having the kind of success he wanted, and who is now in his 3rd or 4th year of being in a college program is someone we should be concerned about throwing in the towel again (when in fact he never did it in the first place)? I don't care if abe is the guy or if it's Nelson or myles bumps up or whovever, but this is some pretty good trolling.....

I do enjoy the subtle jabs Eddie Haskell. “Hell, you may be hated here now”
Thank goodness we have your insights to keep us in line. The good news is that if you want a board for open discussion and no judgement bwi is available. Perhaps you may want to review some of the dialog over there to see how that goes. I have seen some less than well received commentary on that board when they don’t toe the company line.

So... umm... back to wrestling.

Seabass is staying at 141.

And I hope Kaleb Young is on a pitch count. He cuts so much.

PSU looking like the favorite on paper. Intermat poll has us by 17 but that includes no points currently accounted for at 125, 149, 157 or 165 for PSU.

Unless Suriano enrolls at PSU at semester, I don't see them making those 17 points up with what they currently have at those 3 weights.

As it sits I agree 125 Steen won't get much. Bartlett is a blue chip who was competitive in limited time last year and has had a season to get bigger and more prepared and is coming off a Jr gold. I could see him low to mid AA. Lee at 157 probably not AA but could score a couple points. Facundo at 165 another blue chip. It's a nasty weight so hard to gage how a true freshman will do. Our only upward mobility is 149 and 184 really. We need the high ranked guys to finish where projected and 10 to 15 total points from 149/184.

Not really worried about anybody beating Iowa this year. Sorry Starcrap out schemed Kemerer last year and won't happen again. Bull got us basically nothing last year. Lee was hurt and still got it done and did not score as many as he could if he was healthy. Do you all realize how close Desanto was to beating Fix last year have no doubts about him getting at least 3rd. Should get more points out of 184 and probably 197 also. No Worries about this coming season. After the class that graduates this year it will be a bit dicey for a year but Ryan is working hard and I have faith!

I gotta disagree on more points at 197. It's possible we get more points at 197, but it's just as likely we get less. 197 will potentially be as tough as 165. Lee will not be healthy this year (unless he gets beat up should be a healthier version of what we saw at NCAA's.

The Bull will 100% get us more points than he did last year. Kem, Spencer, Jayden, Young, Cass, and DeSanto could all potentially get a few more points or a few less (we can call it a push). It's going to come down to Warner's run at 97, Murin needs to take the next step, and our 84. With Assad I think we have an AA with Brands, we have R16, R12 at best.

I don't think PSU can beat us, but we can definitely crap the bed and lose.

This is said every year. And every year that the NCAA tournament has happened, he's done worse; He's gone 6th, 7th, DNP.

But alas, I'd still put money on you being right. Though probably a mid AA.

You missed nothing. PSU is in the running for Suriano if he wrestles collegiately.
I can't see Suriano missing out on the opportunity to defeat Spencer Lee, especially as Lee attempts his 4th. That could truly also give Penn State the title this year. It would be the stuff of legend.
