Do not care if this is non-Iowa, Angel Reese=Piece Of Garbage

Waving good-bye to the opposing teams center after the girl fouled out. This is another example of Reese's classless reaction to ANY opponent who challenges her or gets the better of her. But then this is the culture that is instilled upon her by her Coach. I don't care if it is Iowa or any other team in the tourney, I want that team embarrassed. Reese has already showed her WNBA potential and it is horrifically weak. I don't know a thing about NIL deals but I wish some of these companies would look at her and come to realize they would rather not be represented in advertisements by this immature Barbasol Barbie and cancel all contracts with her.

Business owners learn the real cost of riots

One day after rioters destroyed the Sports Dome retail complex in St. Paul, a construction crew hired by the city knocked the building down because it was dangerously unstable.

Then the city presented the property owners with a $140,000 bill for what it would cost to haul away the debris.

“We were really upset about that,” said property owner Jay Kim, whose insurance policy covers a maximum of $25,000 in demolition costs. “We thought that was high. But we didn’t know how much demolition would cost at the time.”

Like dozens of other investors whose properties were severely damaged in the May riots, the Kim family was stunned to discover that the money it would collect from its insurance company for demolition won’t come close to the actual costs of doing the job. Most policies limit reimbursement to $25,000 to $50,000, but contractors have been submitting bids of $200,000 to $300,000. In many cases, the price of the work is not much lower than the actual value of the property, records show.

Proctor will be a bust

I know this is going to come off as sour grapes and sounds like a crazy theory, but hear me out. Kadyn Proctor is going to be a bust because his PR in the shot put is only 52 feet. That's pretty pathetic for someone who is supposedly one of the top athletes in the country. Someone with his size and strength should be throwing at least in the high 50s even with terrible technique. It really makes me question how athletic and explosive he actually is. For comparison, Brandon Scherff threw 61 feet and Tristan Wirfs threw 66 feet. Still don't buy into my theory? Check out this page which shows a correlation between being a good shot put/discus thrower with being an elite offensive lineman.

Drinking and driving in bad weather

Wife had a snow day yesterday (she's a teacher here in Wisconsin...my ass is retired) today they had school so I drove in to Eau Claire to pick up some beer and wine (we were out of both) I headed to both Woodman's and Costco for bargain shit and on the way home I decided to take the back roads which was a mistake. I opened a Leinies and then realized the effing roads hadn't been plowed...the going was so slow I killed 4 beers by the time I got home. Next time I'll take the main roads.

Recruitment Update - Zay Robinson 3/7

Just caught up with Zay as well.

Was sounding like Iowa State was the favorite for his commitment (he was planning on announcing on March 13), but after Scheelhaase left for the NFL, it’s more so up in the air.

Now, Zay says he’s planning on putting off his commitment until after the fall season. He’ll go to a couple camps this summer, too.

Said that he’s planning on taking a spring visit to Iowa soon, too. Doesn’t have a date set.

Big10 Mens Basketball Coach of the Year 23-24

I see it was Hoiberg and Painter. I guess it is old news, but it made me think---how come Fran has never won it?

This season Painter had the good fortune to have about $1 million in NIL to get Eddy to come back Hoiberg made the right moves with Mast from the Portal and parlayed that plus a great home crowd to a 2nd place finish. Underwood also made some good moves in Portal and had a great year.

I know last year Fran was mentioned on this board as a candidate for coach of year but it didn't happen. Fran got Iowa to 11-9 in conference last year and of course 11-10 after BTT. This year's 10-10 conference record and loss in 1st game of BTT to end up 10-11 just not good enough.

Seems like Big10 Coach of the year award is too focused on 1 year results because they haven't recognized Fran at all in his 14 year run, The award seems to be focused on finishing 2nd or better in B1G or some great turn around story---like anything less is mediocre, which it is not.
