Sheriff's Office investigates deputy's alleged social media post of crash victim photo

A Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's deputy is under scrutiny after allegedly posting a photo of a deceased Mason City man at a crash scene on social media.
Sheriff Kevin Pals acknowledged Thursday an investigation is underway but declined to elaborate, saying it was too early to comment.

Complaint posts on social media stated Deputy Russell Jensen took a photo of 22-year-old Allan Shafer's body at the crash scene where Shafer died after striking a deer with his motorcycle on Broad Street in Plymouth on Sunday morning. One complaint post on Facebook states Jensen used Snapchat to send the photo to others with a caption that alludes to Shafer hitting the deer while traveling at a speed of 100 mph.

In a screenshot provided to the Globe Gazette, a Snapchat user admonishes an unnamed officer for taking and sharing a photo of a dead Mason City motorcyclist on Sunday morning.

Details surrounding the collision such as speed and road conditions were not included in the accident report provided by the sheriff's office Monday, and no findings by the Iowa Department of Safety were available as of Thursday morning.

Crude Oil prices falling off a cliff

So is Bidenomics working now? Biden doesn't control supply or demand or countries attacking other countries. Now we can help to solve or protect those countries, but ultimately market dynamics control the prices. With decreasing demand, and geopolitics beginning to take the worst case scenario off the table allowing cooler heads to prevail, the crude oil prices are decreasing which will continue the downward prices at the gas station. Already places are hitting below $3. Now I do think the government just needs to buy oil and not set a price because it will create a floor and individuals will try to bet around it.

It is a very weird dichotomy out there regarding how strong the economy is, while other indicators are showing some pretty strong slowing. I am not sure if it is lag indicators or what is truly occuring here. I do think we will have a mild recession, but if we can have a soft landing that would be a very impressive outcome. Will have to wait and see.

I sure am enjoying get 5.3% on 2 year cds. First time in a while savers can get a decent return on bonds and cd's.

Former president Donald Trump ratcheted up his dehumanizing rhetoric against immigrants Saturday by saying that some who are accused of crimes are “not people.”

“I don’t know if you call them people,” he said at a rally near Dayton, Ohio. “In some cases they’re not people, in my opinion. But I’m not allowed to say that because the radical left says that’s a terrible thing to say.”
