So Oregon gets extended rest prior to this game, while Iowa gets about as quick of a turnaround between the 1st and 2nd rounds as possible (about 39 1/2 hours between the end of Game 1 and start of Game 2). Seems fair.

Iowa's game should be swapped with either Michigan/LSU or Colorado/Florida St. All of those teams finished their games on Saturday hours before Iowa started.

The start time benefits Iowa more than Oregon, imo, but the change of venue evens things up quite a bit.

Iowa just got a bit used to the environment of playing in Farmers Coliseum, and now has to play in a new arena @ Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

That was always the plan. The second round games were going to be somewhere were neither team played in round 1

Something that just bothers me. I figured Iowa would get the latest timeslot because they played and the committee would give them max rest since Oregon didn't play. I thought they would decide that would be the most fair thing to do... Instead, we get the shortest rest possible?

TV is King

That’s what happens when senior players call out the NCAA in interviews....

Feel bad for fans who can’t watch it (luckily I’m one who can). However as noted I love the early time with a west coast team. Reminds me of teams having late 9pm kick off for college football from Midwest east coast playing out west. Even if they’ve been in Indy 4 days really curious how much work they’ve been getting done early in the morning and how acclimated their players are to it. Plus our Tenn game same time spot 2 yrs ago. Remember during that awful first half announcers saying how we came out sluggish and veteran Tenn more ready to go. Let’s hope roles are reversed and unlike last night thinking could be more Iowa fans too at the game. But think our experienced team will be ready to go.

Agreed. The least amount of rest and preparation time possible. Thanks NCAA. Would the Dukes or Gonzagas of the world have been given the same "consideration"? I think they would get the latest time slot possible.

Can someone point me to the Illinois player's tweet that lead to them playing at 11:10 this morning? I must have missed that one.

You're doing it wrong. You have to say "Bohannon needs to shut up and focus! No more social media you punk! Now the NCAA is going to screw the Hawks. The NCAA is out to get Iowa. Their sole purpose is to screw Iowa!"

Based on the officiating yesterday that tried every way they could without making it blatantly obvious that they were trying to keep it under the Vegas spread.......I'd say that's exactly what they're trying to do.

Go ahead what's the difference between those four schools and Iowa?
They played earlier in the day on Saturday and play games on Monday against a team that also played Saturday.

I guess it was important to get all those eyeballs for the Creighton-Ohio game during after-work hours, too, eh?

Well since you want to be difficult. Those schools you listed all play in signifcantly larger TV markets. I'd get why CBS wants to put those in primtime.

And the creighton-ohio and ACU game are both at 5. It's clear TV thinks nobody is watching at 5

Wow. Nobody is ever happy on this board it seems. About anything! Hawks win- complain. Hawks lose- complain. Hawks make the NCAA tournament as a 2 seed- complain. Hawks face a team with a big center and that bring lots of fans- complain. Refs- don’t even get me started. Advance to the second round- complain. Playing Oregon who got a bye- complain. Tip off as a feature game of the day? - complain. No, the NCAA is not punishing Iowa.

My goodness people! Be filled with joy for once and just be grateful we have a team still playing and that is fun to watch (regardless of what time that may be). Go Hawks baby!
I agree with all of the complainers. They’re correct just so you know.

‘’Fun to WATCH”. At 11:10 shall I tell my patients I’ll be back in a couple of hours?

Makes zero sense to play 39 hours after Iowa finished vs the most rested team in the tourney.
Drake was tired in the 2nd half yesterday and wore down vs USC. NCAA sets up Iowa for same fate. Bastards.

Brown bottle flu people. It’s like people don’t have a brain. Or PTO. #GoHawks

I wish it was that easy. Can't get subs and can't miss practice after school.

Miss the good old days a little bit where I could just take a day off whenever and not have to worry about a thing. Oh well.

Advantage for Iowa. They have played a game in that building so should have most of their tournament jitters out of the way. Oregon hasn’t played a game in 10 days and having to adjust to a 3 hour time zone change is never easy.

Iowa hasn't played in the building. Oregon has been in Indy for like a week now

Every game is at a different venue, just FYI......

This is the building the B1G uses when the tourney is in Indy (Pacers home). Hawks have played here.

Sedge

The tourney last week was in Lucas Oil. The Big 10 hasn't played in Bakers since 2016. Woodburry was our Center
