2022 Recruiting (1 Scholarship Left): Jaxon Kohler & Josh Dix VISITED Sep3, Tyler Nickel Sep17. Aidan Shaw VISITED Jun23. Kyle Filipowski to Duke

I wouldn't put much stock in this author's opinion. He clearly doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to Iowa.

Garza was a center, not stretch forward. White wasn't a "stretch" forward either.

He seems to be the only person left that has Weezy returning.

And the nepotism jab is incredibly lazy reporting at best. Patrick will be the only McCaffery on the roster by the time Flip would arrive. And Patrick will end up going down as a good player at Iowa. Just because he's the coach's son doesn't mean he can't play

I agree. At this point, who knows what any roster will look like in two years. This is not specific to Iowa, especially with the transfer portal. The only thing that matters is that he will fit well in Fran's system.

Kakert put in a future cast for Dix to Iowa this morning.

You seem excited. Interesting, given your previous statements that Fran would whiff on all of the talented kids he got on campus.

@silasstarr was correct in calling you out.

This is the most talent taking officials in the same month to Iowa for basketball that I can remember for quite a few years.

Bowen
Filipowski
Dix
Shaw

I don't think he gets much credit for getting a bunch of highly rated kids on campus and whiffing on all of them.

The whiffing on all of them was talking about this year's visitors. He doesn't deserve credit if he gets this talent on campus and doesn't get a signed LOI from any of them.

So you are preemptively bitching about an outcome that hasn’t happened yet.

yep, i got one date wrong.
Took awhile but that is a good start. We all make mistakes, admitting them rather than doubling down and striking out is the approach I prefer. You are very dialed in so I am assuming you were aware of the date issue far before this stage.

Triangle specifically said “highly rated.” Dix doesn’t have a rating on either Rivals or TOS, and Bowen is a three star on both, so his comment wasn’t technically inaccurate if both commit

Regardless, give it a rest already

My point of that post was to share a tweet that listed 6 East Coast Gatorade Players of the Year. 3 of the 6 had Iowa ties/offers. And I knew Donovan Klingan had narrowed his schools down to 8 (not Iowa), and was simply communicating that, especially for those who might have missed it. I just typed the wrong date of when he narrowed his choices to 8.

Actually, I have seen some writers call Bowen a 4 Star and when Triangle was discussing the talent coming in for visits (as you can see below), he lumped Bowen & Dix with Filipowski & Shaw.

Will we get all 4 of these talented players, as Triangle calls them? Likely not. But I don't think we will whiff on all 4 of them, either.

You’re petty beef with Triangle is getting old. Both of you should knock it off.

Iowa offered Kyle Filipowski on June 18, 2020.

He took his first Official Visit to Syracuse.

He is visiting Iowa June 17.

He is not planning on cutting his list for a while.

Based on his comments from today, it looks like he won't making a decision until sometime this fall.

Q: What is the plan for your recruiting process after this month of visits?

Filipowski: "After this month, I'll take a step back after these visits in June. I have AAU all of July for Peach Jam, so I'm just going to focus on basketball and winning Peach Jam in July. Just enjoying that, my last year of AAU. August, kind of taking a step back, talking with the family and stuff. Then planning on taking some more visits in the fall, because I'll have my senior officials, either taking some new officials in the fall or return to some of the schools I visited in June. Not entirely sure, that will be determined depending on how this month goes. I'll take my officials and then I'll determine where things go from there. I think I'll start getting a better feel for things after all the visits are all over."

Iowa offered Richard Isaacs on June 15, 2020. Iowa offered the first day schools could call.

Richard is AAU teammates with 2022 SG AJ Storr.

He is having a very good camp.

Alex is a Nationwide High School Basketball Analyst.

The original post & thread title have been updated.

We currently have 2 scholarships left for the 2022 class.

In Men's basketball, of course, you can have 13 on scholarship.

ONE ADDITIONAL THING TO MONITOR: due to covid-19, 2020-2021 was considered a "free year" by the NCAA, so seniors Luka Garza and Jordan Bohannon could have come back for the 2021-2022 season. So, anyone listed below (with the exception of Filip Rebraca) as JUNIORS AND SENIORS could potentially play/graduate a year later than CURRENTLY expected.

2022-2023 Roster (11 on Scholarship; 2 scholarships available):

FRESHMEN: 1 player

6'3" PG Dasonte Bowen (***)

SOPHOMORES: 2 players

6'7" F Payton Sandfort (***)

6'11" C Riley Mulvey (***)

JUNIORS: 6 players

6'11" C Josh Ogundele (***)

6'4" G Tony Perkins (***)

6'2" G Ahron Ulis (***)

6'8" F Keegan Murray (Not Rated)

6'8" F Kris Murray (Not Rated)

6'9" SF Patrick McCaffery (****)

SENIORS: 2 players

5'10" PG Joe Toussaint (***)

6'9" SF Filip Rebraca (this includes the the covid-19 free year that all 2020-2021 athletes were given)

Notable Walk on players:

SOPHOMORE: 1 player

Luc Laketa--a 2021 6'6" wing/forward; on May 13, 2021, it was announced he would be joining the roster as a preferred walk on.

Iowa offered Reed Bailey on May 8, 2021.

Dasonte Bowen, Reed Bailey & Taylor Bowen (2023 prospect who Iowa has offered) all play on the same High School and AAU teams.

3 player package deal?

Meanwhile, as you can see here, Reed & Taylor are opening eyes.

Iowa offered Aidan Shaw on Oct 25, 2019.

Tyler Glazier is a basketball analyst. Ari Rosenfeld is a scouting director. Adam Ayalew is also a Scout.

As you can see by their comments, Aidan, AJ Storr (2022 prospect Iowa has offered) & Taylor Bowen (2023 prospect Iowa has offered) really stood out at the Pangos AA Camp.

Check these comments out & Watch:

Iowa offered Alex Karaban on May 4, 2021.

Alex plays on the Expressions Elite AAU team with Dasonte Bowen (2022 PG Commit), Reed Bailey (2022 PF, who Iowa offered) and Taylor Bowen (2023 prospect Iowa has offered).

He had a great Pangos AA Camp.

As you can see, he is taking official visits to Northwestern & Penn State.

As you can see from this story, he is always looking at more schools and is very open right now.

Any location (including Iowa City) is fine with him.
