****2024-25 Chicago Bears Thread 📉****

3 stud WRs and a couple solid TEs and nobody can get open. They don’t even have their top 2 WRs and are moving the ball. I have defended Flus because of the hand he was dealt, and they improved last year, but if this team ends up with another shitty record, he can go. Then once again we will have a young QB learning another offense. Damn!

I wanted the Bears to trade the pick because I viewed it purely in a transactional sense, in which the Bears were turning a fairly volatile asset with marginal history of return (#1 pick QB’s) into a crap-ton of assets.

Also, it was because I DON’T TRUST THIS FRANCHISE to do this right.

The line is garbage. Even worse when Jenkins goes down and they have to put Davis in due to salary obligations.

Braxton Jones gets blown up every pass play. He gets shoved into Caleb’s lap before he anchors. Their first 3 picks next year need to be oline because they are really disappointing. OT, then center/guard with round 2 picks.

Hate to say it , coz I don’t think much about coaching staff but having said that, gotta see how the year plays out. I knew there’d be struggles

Or, invest some of that cap money. A mid level guard or center is a must. My preference this year was to draft a center over an OT who was already injured, but, I'm not Ryan Poles.

I had them drafting John Michael Schmidt (sp?) 2 years ago but they didn’t listen to me.

Justin Fields played well again for the Steelers. So, the 4th or 6th round draft pick-o-meter is still pointing towards a 4th.

Have an uncle who’s still obsessed with Fields and his fumbling problem, sends me a text whenever he fumbles again.

Apparently he’s fumbled 4x now.

He had an ugly one yesterday that basically killed the Steelers’ final drive. They were down 3 with 2 1/2 minutes left. They started at their own 17 and went 25 yards. But on a first down play from their own 42, the shotgun snap bounced off Fields’ facemask. He recovered it, but the 12 yard loss made it 2nd and 22 and they weren’t able to make a first down.

Not sure if it was his fault or the center’s. Or a combination of the two. But that play basically cost them a chance to at least get into field goal range to send the game to overtime.

Sure.

It’s just weird that my uncle is tracking this now that he’s no longer on the Bears.

I simply don’t care, and he’s trying to troll me on this since I’d defended Fields at first.

I have friends who are the same way. I really don't care either and hope he does well tbh

Ok Bears fans, what about this weeks game against the Jags.

Who wins?

It's currently Jags -1 which surprised me.

Didn't know the Bears were THAT bad.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I'm a week ahead. This game is two weeks out.

All depends on if the line is improving and if Caleb is continuing to grow. They need to get more rollouts in my opinion. In think the defense wins it agains. Oh, and Tory Taylor will be more popular than CW in Chicago by the end of the year if they don’t make the playoffs

Somebody knows something. Those guys in the desert are usually on top of things.

Dark web says Williams’s girlfriend is having her period this week and that is causing tension for Caleb and the Jags coach was told win or your fired.

We play the Panthers first. We messing them both up. Da Bears!

If the Bears would have hired Harbaugh, and targeted C/G instead of blowing money on Swift and Allen, they would be in a much better place.

Because of those misses, the season will be a struggle. Williams will have defenders (and his own linemen) in his lap every play. Eberflus is a DC, not a HC.

I hated that the bears did just good enough down the stretch last year to justify bringing him back. He seems to be a solid DC, but doesn’t do great with the big picture.

Could have had Bill Belicheck
Honestly, not sure I want belichek at this point. Younger rosters with older coaches don’t have great track records.

Reportedly, part of the reason he was forced out at New England was because he wanted to maintain the roster management he’d had for years, despite an increasingly poor draft record.

Call me jaded, but even though Jenkins didn't practice today I think he plays on Sunday. Why? It's his contract year.

Alaric Jackson is a free agent next year..grab him and have an instant upgrade at left tackle. Would love a trade for Linderbaum too somehow.
