I am glad she probably makes more playing for Iowa than she would in the WNBA.

It's almost inconceivable that our starting 5 played 26 minutes and grabbed 1 rebound.

Huge credit to Czinano for her offense. I didn't think it would be possible to see someone shoot in the low post like Megan Gustafson and she's actually really close. But her defense and rebounding is terrible, and in games like this it actively killed the team. What made Megan so special was that she was also one of the best rebounders in the country and played solid defense too.

Monika is at a physical disadvantage to most bigs. In addition to not being as tall as some of the other bigs she doesn't have the broad hips and shoulders to take up space that other bigs in the league do. What she has going for her is decent ups and she can twist her body to score around bigger defenders. Her best defense is her offense in getting players in foul trouble. Michigan did a great job of shutting down passing lanes which negated her offense and took away her best defense. She is often in good position but Hillman can play over or through her at will. And we don't really have any help playing 4 guards.

Addie is a little broader but she also needs to add upper body strength so she is also physically overmatched at times.

When we play them again we''ve got to get our guards in position to take charges and get Hillman in early foul trouble so Monika/Addie can go to work.

I have never seen a 4th quarter like that. She struggled most of the 1st half but really turned it on in the 2nd half with 30+ points.

Seriously, I think Affolter should start. Feuerbach can't dribble. When she has the ball, Iowa's offense slows down because after every three bounces she has to reel the ball in so that it doesn't fly away from her.

Rant over. Great effort everybody. If there's ever an encouraging loss this is it. I'm sure the Michigan fans are still in awe. I heard after the game Clark was busy signing autographs for Michigan fans again.

I would disagree but to each his own. She’s one of the more active without the ball, and more consistent on defense—not great defensively but doesn’t seem to have the major lapses that we see from others.
Just seems like she doesn’t get enough longer stretches to get into a flow. Not going to be a 17-and-5 producer but certainly has a good roll to play.

Is it a Covid thing for the women’s teams to not shake hands or do they never do that? Admittedly, I’ve only watched 2 games til the end, but the game against OSU they didn’t either, although I thought maybe that was was just due to the bad blood.

We go to all the Arizona Women’s games and this season the PAC-12 told the teams to just wave, which they do. In previous years they shook hands.
