I haven't watched the game yet. Was McKenna at 100% last night? In her last two games back she didn't appear to be anywhere near 100%. And going by the box score and reading this thread I would say Monika is still using her hands when she should be moving her feet.
Indiana followed teams' lead from earlier in the year, stopping Monika higher up the lane. The only success she had is when they fronted her, which only happened a time or 2. Amazing, how other teams haven't followed that lead, also, as Big Ten play has gone on. The other thing that really hurt the 2nd half was that the ball really stuck and Iowa had relatively no ball movement whatsoever; I feel like Clark's confidence in a couple teammates has really waned as the season has gone on, especially regarding the 3 pt line.

JMO but MC, Davis, and KM played poorly (not saying they did not work hard). Who knows with Warnock's injury how she was affected. GM played her usual one-sided game.

Again JMO, against good teams the lack of consistent outside shooting by everyone not named Clark is a huge problem. I will never understand Bluder's reluctance to McCabe more time from the beginning of the year for her shooting?

Why not bring her in situationally, run 2 sets for her on 2 straight possessions, have her hit 2 threes, then get her back out if you just want to keep running starters out there? It's an unused weapon this year for sure.

Not a new issue, but just incredibly sloppy ball handling with this team at times.

Lot of "slow feet" and getting outhustled to the ball.

What's with calling so many of the supporting cast no-shows? They played hard, did what was asked of them, and everyone who saw the floor had good moments. Indiana is a GOOD team who scouted us very well.
With all due respect. We have Clark, but I'm not sure we're that close overall in talent.

If you combined IU and Iowa
. . . Our #2 was basically MIA last night
I would state it slightly differently: IU effectively took Czinano out of the game, just as NC State and UCONN had done with superior interior defense and superior perimeter defense making post entry difficult. IU, NC State and UCONN are her last three single-digit scoring games.

Because the team needs Marshall's defense on the perimeter and having Marshall and McCabe in the same lineup isn't viable, especially against bigger teams like Indiana. Martin couldn't buy a three last night, but she's still shooting 41.2% on the season.

Indiana did a good job of denying entry passes, but in past games Czinano has made herself available in the short corner or around the free throw line for jumpers that made her tougher to guard. We didn't see any of that last night. And Stuelke was able to find space to work in the low post.

Indiana tweet nice - f them lol:

-Take down NPOY front-runner Caitlin Clark....

Then you have Caitlin all class, "I thought that crowd was tremendous tonight. I think it's good for women's basketball." Adds that they see those types of crowds in Iowa City and it's not something they were flustered by. "I'm happy for Indiana, they deserve it, they're a great team."
Meh. It's Barstool, so it's some balding loser in his 30s or 40s (or a group of them) making snarky tweets to try to get a reaction.

Warnock had a double double last night. If she's not 100% yet, then Iowa is in very good shape with her.

I think Indiana's 2-5 is much better than Iowa's, but Clark makes the two teams 1-5 fairly equal in talent. Our #2 was basically MIA last night and the game was still tied in the 4th with Holmes and Berger playing well.
I haven't seen Indiana play until now. I'm just basing my comment off Berger being injured and missing numerous games. It would seem their other players must have really stepped up in her absense for them to be where they are. Other then Berger and Holmes none of them had great games last night. but based on their numbers and their wins without Berger they've been pretty solid. Just think if Clark had been out 6-8 games we would not have the record we do now.

I think the school-specific ones are written by loser college kids... who are still making snarky tweets to try to get a reaction.

They may also be old and balding, I dunno. But the loser part holds up.

I too would like to see more of McCabe. She's a proven 3pt threat and a line up that would include her, Clark and Warnock might take some of the heat off of CC. I really think that Bluder needs to go deeper in her bench at times. The next 2 or 3 games should offer that possibility to see just how deep our bench really is.

Another reason for earlier bench minutes is to avoid dead legs from your main rotation at this point of the season and beyond
I know they’re young kids but it’s a long season. Let the McCabes of the roster get more time so you can get them the experience and rest your mainstays as much as possible.
