A new GOP House proposal is set to ban trans women from women's bathrooms at the capitol building to target first trans Rep, Sarah McBride

Biological women are not safe and they are in danger when you allow a man dressed as a woman to use the same showers and restrooms. You would think the Democrats would want to protect women, obviously they do not.

Sad, truly sad.
OMG. You clearly do not understand the difference between cross dressers, and trans gender. You’re really shallow your ignorance.

I invited all the other women I know on HBOT to express their opinions as well. Do I get to discount goldie's opinion since she's a conservative since mine doesn't count because I am a liberal?
I’m here. Goldmom is a friend of mine.

We are not always on the same page. Friends regardless because I hope that we transcend the pettiness.

This thread is about public restrooms not transgender athletes. That's a different argument. As far as locker rooms go, no one should have to undress or shower publicly regardless of gender. If it's about sexual attraction there are many gay/lesbian athletes as well.

Now, do you have any examples of your claims happening in Walmarts,Targets, Stadiums, etc.?
You are simply proving that you have not seriously studied the subject and are unfit to discuss it any further. Get out of your bubble, go do some research and then come back.

Quit acting like it can't happen and doesn't happen. Next you'll say it doesn't happen that often. Next you'll say it's good that it happens.

I'm glad you're here. I respect goldie even though we very rarely agree. A few months ago she was absent for quite a bit of time and I was one of the first to express concern. Thankfully she was just busy doing other things.

So what are your opinions on the possibility that you may be sharing a public restroom with someone that might be transgender? Is it something you are concerned about?

When these people wander into the women's restroom, it will be great.

What do you think this proves?
I assume that since she and @3boysmom liked the following post that they share my feeling that a trans person sharing a bathroom with us (women) is not a concern.

As a woman that's used the women's restrooms all my life, I don't know how anyone would know whether the person in the stall next to you was trans or not. It's not like we stand out in the open to pee like men do with urinals. We have individual stalls to do our business. I think female members of congress have more to fear from Trump and his band of accused sexual assaulter nominees than a transgender woman.

That incident involved a drunk man, not a transgender woman. Try again.

Absolutely not.

Just as I am not concerned with have friends that are gay.

1- I can protect myself from a guy that outweighs me by 100 pounds.

2- I am not concerned with lesbians coming on to me.
And furthermore, the only people that have come on to me, and invaded my space, have not been trans or gay. It’s been macho men. It’s been men that have groped me and tried to touch me.

And yes, one, who was told repeatedly to leave me alone by my guy friends, did not listen. I clocked him and sent him into a table, and he fell down.

And yes, he outweighed me by 100 pounds at least.

the Venn diagram of "people obsessed with trans bathroom issues" and "people who think any additional attention paid to me too or sexual misconduct is ridiculous" is one circle

So 3 extremely liberal people from HROT are ok with it. This doesn't surprise anyone.
If you know of any other women that post on HBOT please ask for their opinion. @Wendy79 is the only other woman I know of that posts here, but I haven't seen her here for quite some time. We also have @TarponSpringsNole , but I doubt you would value her opinion on this topic.

So far of the 5 women that have responded/reacted to this topic only @goldmon expressed concerns. Maybe it's not a liberal/conservative issue, maybe it's mostly a male concern.

I am a woman, I'm expressing my beliefs. I noticed @3boysmom liked my earlier post about using the women's restroom so that's 2 of us. What do you think @goldmom @hawkbirch and @bcherod ?

I’ve never once been concerned about my personal safety in a public restroom. Even the nasty men’s’ room at One Eyed Jake’s circa 1994. Yes, I’ve used it. Many times.

Of all the things I worry about on any given day, what a trans person is doing is not one of them. If I have to have an opinion, it would be that I think people should use the public restroom that matches their gender identity but I really don’t care.

Again, not surprising. You're not proving anything here. Conservative women across America disagree with you.

It's the same thing with athletics, liberal woman are more than willing to allow men into women's spaces. Why? Because their party decreed such. Frankly, it's fascinating to watch some women marginalize other women because of politics.

I'll keep in mind that the thoughts of HBOT women on topics that impact women don't count because many of us are not conservative enough.

Or perhaps you should simply keep in mind that you don't speak for all women regarding bathrooms and athletics. Not even close.

Your attempts to suggest otherwise based upon a small sampling of liberal women on HROT is just silly.

Obviously you as a conservative HBOT male poster better understand the female perspective than posters that are actually female.

I’m not either but isn’t that the point of single gender bathrooms?
If a public place has a row of individual bathrooms that either gender uses it wouldn’t be an issue.
Lock ‘em up and let er rip. Privacy assured.
Like I said before, we already have restrooms in America that are unisex. Nobody was having a panic attack about it. There were women in some locked stalls. Men in others. Same space. It’s Republican fear nonsense but it’s effective.

Americans are largely stupid. We've proven that many times over. Most recently on November 5th.

What the hell were you doing Jake’s bathroom, lady? I guarantee you that I served you if you were there in 1994! Honestly the grossest thing I have seen in my life was in the women’s bathroom there and Porter made me clean it. Lol

Wow, is this happening now? Where? Link please.
Cons keep trying to sell the narrative that men are apparently choosing to become trans to 1) hit on women/kids in bathrooms and 2) dominate women's sports.

LOL - Give the queers a separate restroom. Our daughters and wives should not be subjected to having to share a shower/restroom with a man. Is your little boy one of those lady men? You seem to be very upset.
Not upset at all. I’m not the one with the issue. I don’t have a son, I have two no pic daughters ages 22 and 19. Both were high school athletes. The oldest had a trans person regularly use the women’s locker room to go to the bathroom, didn’t bother her at all. While I wouldn’t want a biological male competing in her sports I am no more bothered by them being in a rest room together than she was.

Small digression here:

I wonder how many of us used the men’s room at One Eyed Jake’s many times in 1994? I’m for sure on that list.

My youngest no pic is a sophomore at Iowa and her sorority had a Dad’s weekend for the Northwestern game a few weeks back. We all ended up at the Mexican bar that took over the one eyed Jake’s space and a bunch of us dads were reminiscing on how many of us blacked out due to the 21 pitchers for $21 when it was someone’s 21st.

Good memories, if a bit patchy, of that place.
