Brands and Ferentz are excellent coaches doing the best with what they have. Their supportive fan bases are not.

I'd be more worried about the heroin that the Centre County folk will bring to the game. Sure they enable pedos, but all those hillbillies bringing their smack to Iowa will probably be an issue. I live in Central PA now and it's by far the most hillbilly place I've lived (lived in IA & MS too).

I like how the Penn State fans in this thread keep making this about being good on the football field. You're literally making our points for us by doing so. You value the results on the football field over EVERYTHING else. We're not here attacking you idiots because of your teams talent or lack of talent or whatever. We're here because it's been made abundantly clear that Joe Paterno and several people at your university were enabling disgusting things at your university, and instead of just owning up to it and trying to move past it (like many of the Penn State fans I know in real life actually do) you idiots try to put Joe Paterno up on a pedestal and keep pointing to your on the field achievements (or Iowa's lack of achievements, which has nothing to do with this) as if that somehow makes up for this. We would hate you guys all the same if you were 0-12 every year or had won 50 national titles in a row.

I have some friends who are Penn State fans who are decent human beings and agree that what happened was disgusting and awful and they just want to move forward. I can respect that. But you ****s are disgusting.

Hey I have an idea PSU is ahead of us in wrestling and a lot of it is due to money. Now stick with me, according to the PSU 'fans' on this board this works.

We find a school, make up a bunch of lies, smear a saint of a football coach for no reasons with a pack of lies and they will give us $92 million. I know it's hard to believe but the PSU fans say it works.

Oh and we need some people to go to jail for no reason based on lies. Who is with me? Sounds logical...... to some PSU fans.

We generally go to an away game every year and usually visit the Rivals site to see what the opposition fans are saying. Frankly, reading this thread has made us the most uncomfortable we have ever been in entering opposition territory.
Too many opinions here of those that just read the headlines.
I hope I can have a better opinion leaving than I do entering.

Chances are pretty good that you will. Wear your blue and white and a Joe Pa is still my hero and probably not. You will encounter some jackass as you will in any stadium, how you carry yourself will more than likely determine how you are treated.

I've been treated fine at kinnick and at most other stadiums I've been to. Luckily, these message boards only represent about 1% of the fan base. What we have here are basically juveniles trolling. I have never felt uncomfortable as a visiting fan anywhere I've been yet. I even sat in the Wisconsin section right beside their band in Indy last year.

I don't believe JoePa actually told Curly/Schultz/Spanier. He didn't communicate the severity of the accusations. He made it sound like a little problem with Sandusky (again) and the others follwed his lead. At least that's what Curly/Shultz/Spanier say in their testimony. Also, I think PSU authorities know more than the general public. That's why they tore down his statue.
