Another ridiculous decision

And because this is a "school lunch" program, you're getting those kids to come to the "church of liberalism" every day during their summer break, too.
FFS. Look at these people. Just unbelievable.

The Republican world of Iowa I grew up in in the 70's and 80's was as supportive of public education as Democrat world. I guess it's always been this way in the south which is one of the main explanations for the backwardness, but this shit has infected rural Iowa as well now.

"Church of Liberalism" Effing morons.

It's pretty much a lock that she will lead Iowa into financial doom. Already we are anticipated to take in less revenue in the next several years. If she gets all those rich tax cuts done, we will be operating in the red for a long time.
So, she cut revenue but didn't cut expenses at all?

Sit the rest of this one out, Champ.
Dude got infected with some kinda hateness virus. He thinks that corp goodness is overly kind. The kind that hates to give raises…
It would friggin blow his mind to work in a place like I do that does kind things weekly at work and gives a 24% of yearly compensation end of year bonus.
We work fuggin hard, but the company rewards us for it. We will all bust it again next year, without serious or hateful complaint.

What is bullshit, is they literally just had this story on KCCI news. All they talked about was the cost of the program and not the benefits.

Lazy ass reporters

Summer EBT will supplement existing summer meal programs for children, namely the Summer Food Service Program and the Seamless Summer Option.

The Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer for Children, or Summer EBT, program is designed to address child hunger while schools are out of session for the summer. The program was piloted in several states and was permanently authorized as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. Starting next summer, states willing to cover half the administrative costs have the option to implement the permanent Summer EBT program for the first time.

The federal government will pick up the entire cost of the benefits and the other half of the administrative costs.

Starting a new child nutrition program from scratch requires complex partnerships, and states and tribal organizations nationwide are working across agencies, with state legislatures and with the federal government to stand up the program this summer. Because a new program can come with challenges, the USDA is providing support and flexibility to states as they navigate planning and implementation for the very first time.

Students must be individually certified as eligible for the program, including those who attend schools that provide free meals to all students. Students must also meet federal free and reduced-price income eligibility thresholds, even in states that have passed legislation raising the income threshold for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch during the school year. This means many state child nutrition agencies and state education agencies will have to work together to determine which students are eligible to receive benefits.

Kimmy knows how to fvck kids. She definitely didn't care when she drove drunk all those years.

I think this was a mistake by Kim.

I do really enjoy everyone flip flopping on whether or not she should take fed money. If she takes it they hate it. If she doesn't take it they hate it. Pretty entertaining.

She already took over a billion in federal money. Earmarked for the pandemic. Which she refused to spend. And still refuses to spend. But will use for rich tax cuts. So rich people will get that money. While the state starts operating in the red. By which she will be out of office.

She is a horrible governor. I just wish Rs would admit this.

Lol

How many trillions did Trumps tax cuts add to the debt? We're talking about hungry kids here. It's hard to wring your hands over $34 trillion when we just approved of a $900 billion military budget, trillions in rich tax cuts, but the draw the line at food for kids.
TDS is raw, debilitating and dangerous. Remember all jo's campaign promises to fix this? How's that working:

If anyone is uncomfortable with the plans that Governor Reynolds has in place, then perhaps those people can move to a state with a government aid program more agreeable with their expectations.

I prefer a minimalist and stricter plan for government aid. People need to understand that these programs exist to fill a temporary void, not a lifelong benefit.

With illegals flooding into the country at record numbers (thanks Joe), a message needs to be sent that Iowa is not a place for excessive aid.

Who would hat her taking this money that hates it that she didn’t in this thread?

They aren’t providing a healthy lunch to kids because of obesity. We get it.
If that was the real issue, she could use some of our surplus to allow poor children to have access to fresh fruit and vegetables over the summer. But she’s not doing that because this isn’t about obesity.

Because we care about life when it’s inside a woman but **** them after they are born.

A whole $0.63 for every Iowan to help some kids eat, but Christians like @NorthernHawkeye are here to bitch and moan. Praise be to he.
"For less than .70 cents, a fraction of the cost of a cup of coffee, you can help feed hungry kids nutritious and vital meals. And help them grow healthy and strong."

Northern and Kimmy: "Eh, Fvck em."
