Of course there's probably only a handful of posters here who live in states that are even competitive, so after all the "debate" and the urging to vote one way or the other, it's mostly for naught.
I’m for sure doing a write in this year for POTUS. Either going Luis Litt or Jack Reacher. I’m actually serious
Fair enough.I'll make it easy for you.
I will NOT vote for Trump.
I may vote third party.
I may vote for Biden. I voted for him last time, but shit has his brain gone south in a hurry.
I may not vote at all.
I'm like the Alaska guy...my vote actually means something to me. Hell, I won't put my name next to a buddy at the office if I think he's a shit worker simply because he's a friend. Integrity matters, man.
100% spot on. Why are we allowing ourselves to be reduced to saying “well this one is not good but this one is worse so I’m voting for the lesser of the two losers?”I'm saying I care so much, that I actually value my vote. It's not something I cast lightly, like voting for my favorite sandwich at Subway.
2024 needs to have the lowest voter turn-out in history. American's need to demand better. The fact this country is going to roll out these two senile old men is an embarrassment to the entire world--one who deserves to be in jail and the other a nursing home. I won't be any part of it.
I may vote 3rd party.
I'm 100% certain I will not vote for Trump.
If your top priority is keeping Trump out of office (and that SHOULD be your top, priority) then you should vote for Biden. This is math.
Biden now has a 6 point lead over Trump.
Trump needed this election to be 6 months ago.
The more he opens his mouth the further he will drop behind.
It’s over.
I know they are different. I am saying that in this instance they should be the same.See that's the thing, everyone's priorities are different...

90% chance I will vote for Biden.
I also live in Maryland, which will go to Biden.
And that’s part of the problem with the electoral college, in all but a handful of states the winner is already known, so the motivation to vote is low.
This.Easily.
If Haley could pull out the nomination I vote Haley.
If Trump wins the nomination I vote Biden(again).
If it’s Trump/Biden and their is a viable 3rd party candidate who I like and could win, I vote for them. Think Cheney or Manchin or even Haley.
I did enjoy the Cruise movie. The series has been great. I didn’t read the books but that is actually a great ideaAre you a new Reacher fan from the Amazon series or long time book reader? If you haven't tried the books, consider it, very easy reads and great entertainment.
1. It's not my analogy.Dramatic. And wrong,
Biden is too old, and there is a very good probability that an incompetent Kamala becomes president sometime in the next term. That sucks.
But…
If it’s Biden vs Trump I will vote Biden without hesitation. That’s how low my opinion of Trump is. We have to keep him out of the Oval Office.
Your options are literally infinite. You can write in Smeagol if you like. Your choices are two. Binary. You don't have to like it. You don't even have to believe it just like you don't have to believe in gravity. You can bet on the Super Bowl and put your money on Dallas because you "don't like" the two teams playing. But Dallas CAN'T WIN. Sure, you can make that play but don't whine when you're told you're throwing your money away and viewed as dumb when you brag about it.Agree.
I'm tired of people telling me how I should vote. My options are more than 2 people. Nothing will change if everyone keeps selecting the lesser of two turds. We will continue to get turds.
They want to be viewed as "principled", LOL. And after the fact, they want to be able to claim they didn't vote for whoever won.I would vote for Dan Quayle over Trump. It's amazing that we are even talking about Trump running again and people are like "Oh well, I'll write in Homer Simpson instead because I don't like Biden". This is how we get Trump again.
Licking in the front hole,I've decided who I'm voting for, but undecided on which of OP's mom's orifices to abuse tonight. Which option should I select?
You can couch it however you like but you're going to a Subway with two choices and pretending like you're doing something honorable by paying for a sandwich they don't serve. They'll take your money and hand you the sandwich you hate the most and you'll toss it in the trash. Then they'll laugh at you for the rest of the day because - read this carefully - you threw your money away.I'm saying I care so much, that I actually value my vote. It's not something I cast lightly, like voting for my favorite sandwich at Subway.

Which is it- infinite choices or two teams at a Super Bowl? Or buying a sandwich subway doesn’t serve?Your options are literally infinite. You can write in Smeagol if you like. Your choices are two. It's like saying, "Why bother boycotting....the company is too big. It won't make a dent. Why bother?" Good thing MLK didn't think he was wasting his time.Which is it- infinite choices or two teams at a Super Bowl? Or buying a sandwich subway doesn’t serve?
I’m not trying to be principled or clever. It’s my vote- and there’s nothing that says people have to pick from the two front runners. Just you.
Nothing will ever change if people continue your way of thinking.

I see what you're saying, and I voted third party in both 2012 and 2016. That said, one of the two major choices in 2024 is so wholly unfit to lead the American people, that I can't afford to "throw my vote away."It's like saying, "Why bother boycotting....the company is too big. I'm gonna be honest, I didn't understand either one of your posts. I was genuinely replying to TarheelBeing coy about revealing if you're being coy. Meta.

I think his argument/analogy is flawed. The Super Bowl one for sure.It seemed like you legitimately didn't understand the logic that Tar Heel was describing, but it also seemed like maybe you did understand it, but you just disagree with it and we're being coy in the manner of expressing it.
I was asking if you would reveal which one it was, and you gave me the "shrug" gif
I think his argument/analogy is flawed. The Super Bowl one for sure.
I think in general his line of thinking is flawed/dated/dangerous.
This is nuts. If they elect Trump, in 4 years we'll elect someone else. Democracy is not in danger. Talk like this is blatant fear mongering.
It's still not clear to me if you understood it, but we all communicate differently.
That said, I'll bet you that Dallas wins the Super Bowl.
The presidential campaign isn't the Superbowl. The game itself only allows for two teams- by design. The election - as he mentioned- has infinite possible options.
Are there two (very likely) outcomes? Yes- but by practice, not by design.
