Are you in the "let it burn club?"

Are you in the "let it burn club"?

funny how we survived Trump's first term with low interest rates, low fuel costs, , low mortgage rates, record unemployment for minorities, and peace in the world. Contrast that with the total **** up of the Biden years in office. Killed 12 of our serviceman with his moronic withdrawal from Afghanistan while leaving billions of dollars in military equipment. Interest rates rising from 2% to over 7%. Gas and grocery prices doubling. Men allowed to compete against women while joining them in locker rooms and showers. An entire Party and corporate media covering up the obvious dementia of Biden and then shitting on him at the last minute. Installing a total ****ing idiot who could not answer a simple question on any policy. Continuing to send billions to Ukraine with no idea on how the money is being spent for a war that the Ukraine CAN NEVER WIN. When Abortion is the key issue in your party you are doomed. And NOW you are concerned about the next 4 years? How in the hell can it get worse?
Trump maintained what he inherited from the Obama administration. Stop acting like he resurrected a failing economy.

Couple people have mentioned this in the last week. Curious how many people have just let go of the steering wheel and are on board with "screw it".

I can't be that way. I will laugh at each fail, but IMO we collectively need 47 to succeed.
Whatever happens is God's will and the will of 51% of voters, so who am I to argue?

don’t understand why anyone would actively root for our country to fail.
That is not at all what this is about. We don’t want the country to literally burn.

We simply want MAGA to do what they promised to do with Project 25. The votes were clear and the election was won by a whole bunch of crossover voters who voted for Trump seemingly against their own self interests.

So “go ahead burn it all down” really is a euphemism to saying “ok have at it, fill the federal branch up with bad players and use your Congress and Supreme Court to implement Project 25. We are not going to stop you or whine about it and actually want to watch you do it. Let’s see how this goes for everyone. We will get some popcorn and watch the dildo of consequences rain down on these groups from the sidelines”.

It will only be then that perhaps people will start understanding they are being conned and/or how malevolent some of these people are…because they sure did not figure it out prior to voting.

And maybe things will go great and we are all wrong about it….

But this is not at all a whiny place to be nor one that wishes country to burn down, just one that is tired of fighting and heard the will of the people and will now simply watch as things unfold and laugh as it blows up in peoples faces.

It’s sad that I know what you jackwads are hoping for? Alrighty then.

You should go read Bruno’s what if thread about trump and his upcoming term. If you had any doubts about a certain segment of the populations Hope for the success of this country over that timeframe, you won’t for long. It’s funny how that same group has admonished the maga crew for hoping for failure the last 4 years, but here we are. Hypocrisy at its finest. But, for some reason, it is always sooooooo much different when the left does it. Makes me sick.
You don’t read good.

We aren't steering anything. We are all in the "let it burn" phase, more or less. I want the country to succeed and hope for the best but am just an observer until the next election.

I honestly hope that this administration doesn't end us in recession like the last three republican presidencies. Time will tell.

As usual nuance is lost on MAGA. They will seize on the phrase “burn it all down” as if it is some literal and active stance. As If Harris voters would actively burn the country down. That is NOT what we are saying.

What we are saying is we won’t interfere with the MAGA agenda. Let them have their way - that is ultimately what the people want. To mix metaphors: why would we piss into the wind? Instead let the storm blow through and then point out how it happened and who caused the radioactive shitstorm by nuking the g*ddamned hurricane in the first place.

After it is over we will be there to pick up the pieces. I will personally extend a hand and applaud any Trump voter who learns the lesson that his brand of nationalist, populist policies are not in America’s best interest.

Go ahead MAGA, do your thing. Burn the country, nuke the hurricanes and have your retribution. It ain’t going to cut the price of energy in half and half the country will still be living paycheck to paycheck.

Yes, because this is all totally normal. 🙄
What’s abnormal - in the long historical sense - is incoming presidents getting zero chance to govern, starting prior to their inauguration. Bad picks? Sure but he’s the one 75 million people voted for, whether you or I like it or not. As I’ve said, everybody gets one chance, particularly if they’ve been elected. That is after all the essence of “democracy,” and the real “threat” to it is not affording it any respect whatsoever. It’s ok to have a short fuse, but you gotta at least have A fuse.

Very telling poll that the I care about everyone party doesn’t actually care about anyone but themselves or their party.
They didn’t get what they wanted and now they pout.
I don’t think I’ve ever thrown in the towel or wanted anyone to suffer. Now do I think liberals are clueless about things, absolutely. Do I want them to suffer because of it, heck no. I want everyone to do better.

I have children, a mortgage, and investments.

Just as I’ve never even for a second considered cutting off my penis, the idea of setting everything on fire doesn’t strike me as a great one.

F*ck all you jackasses who didn’t vote for Kamala though. Things are about to get painful. If only we didn’t have countless examples and hundreds of years of history as proof.

Recession is my base case. Depression possibilities are rising. Deregulation is great. Everything else has potential real dire consequences.

The GOP complains when Dems maneuver to block Trump. Now they complain when we say “do your thing”.? You are literally getting everything you wanted, Harris voters are saying “we think you will f*ck it all up, but go ahead, we will watch the show”. We say this because the only way to demonstrate just how stupid and damaging Trump’s policies are is to let him implement them. And somehow that is a bad thing? Somehow that is pouting? Hey, if he is wildly successful then great!

No Harris voter wanted this, but it seems the only way America learns is through crisis. Trump will create that crisis annd the rest of us will be here to solve it when it happens.

Like I said. You didn’t get what you wanted so now you’ll just sit back and hope it fails. Do you do this at your place of employment as well? They make a change you don’t like so you don’t buy in and hope everything goes to shit?
Then again dems seem to bail anytime something goes against them so you probably find a new job.

Have you taken your children out of daycare since the election? Things are going to get painful for you when Elon and Vivek get rid of the government programs you leech off of. All of you worthless activists leeches can fvck off. It’s funny that you think you have investments.

Let it all burn is the definition of I don’t care. What do kids do when they don’t get what they want? They scream I don’t care. I never get what I want anyway. Is that not pouting? You do know pouting is more than physically crying right?

Really? So according to you we'll see senate democrats join in on legislation so that 60 votes are obtained, right?

What should Kamala voters be doing in your opinion? Basically we are saying let the people have what they voted for. What should "good Americans" be doing right now?

Where did I say I hope it fails? I don’t want it to fail - I said that in the literal first post I made in this thread. I actually hope Trump will be wildly successful, but I know that is a pipe dream. So I’m being pragmatic. I will wait patiently (maybe have a laugh or two at the ridiculousness of it all) and in 2 years be there with my vote to help usher in a hopefully more bipartisan, more moderate congress.

To bring it to my work life: I worked in technology for 30 years. My last gig was CEO of a company that I guarantee you have heard of. I’m now semi retired and an active angel investor / board member / advisor to a variety of companies. You know what I do when I see a company I previously invested in head down the wrong path? If I have control I fire the people who sent it down that path. I certainly tried that this time in the election. It didn’t work, but it is not the end of the world. So now I’m waiting patiently with available capital for the moment when things hit their bottom. When the company (country) is ready to accept a new path I will gladly pitch in.

Not start a new thread about every single decision Trump has made so far would be a start. Not starting threads saying he won’t lower prices of anything. Not start threads saying he is working with Russia. I could go on and on.
I know most people in this world aren’t on Hawkeye Beacon but this type of shit is all over the news and social media.
If people want to give up and sit back, that’s one thing but to continue to divide and voice “opinions” constantly is not helping.

I don’t speak for congress. I shouldn’t have used “we” as I am humble enough to know the only person I can confidently speak for is myself. Whether the dem senators think as I do is yet to be seen. But your inference is likely correct. I imagine they will do their best to stop Trump’s agenda as they would get primaried otherwise.

Then again, seeing as I am not a senator, all I really have is my voice and my vote. I will use my voice to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all and I will use my vote in two years time. Until then I’m going to enjoy the show.

Did you get upset when Republican posters did the same thing during Biden's presidency?

There were multiple bad policies. The issues with the 1930's and the 1970's was the multiple bad policy decision and the unwillingness to realize the issues before too late. The other is coming from highly inflated valuations in the stock market ect.

Yep, you have the whole party nailed.

Republicans are so positive and supporting every time they win. You never seem them wanting liberals to suffer or fail. We should follow their shining example.

The dildo of consequences does not "rain down", it 'slides up'

No.

I am now starting to get a glimmer of hope that Trump is going to be so exceptionally crazy, and will surround himself with so many other crazies, that the adults in the GOP will at long last decide enough is enough.
Don't know if that's possible.

Liquor or beer last night?

It’s not rooting for it. In our opinion that is what Trump has leaned into. He is basically saying I will make it burn, and 40% of the population is pissed and said I want it to burn because my life sucks. For someone who is well educated, well off, I can have the conversations, about Trumps policies, his lies and his authoritarian tendencies. However a majority of republicans don’t see it. They say he was picked on with lawsuits and charges. He rally isn’t that bad, and any concerns with January 6th and Pence is overblown. When you discuss the military and statements he should never be in charge of the military they just claim it’s one person opinion. So if they want to ignore it all and hold their nose, the other large percentage want to see things burn, then might as well watch it burn. I will still be yelling saying told you so, but this was very much an anticipated outcome. He has removed the safeguards and people telling him no this go around.

And there it is. The “I told you so” that puts party over country. People want to watch it burn so they can say told you so. Pretty sad state of affairs but again, here we are. Republicans did it the last 4 years as well. Maddening.
