Any news on him and why dont we see guys like him wrestling in open tournaments unattached or does that burn a redshirt. Im assuming he steps right in foe Spencer next year.

That’s a great gladiator training camp for Ayala for next year.Saw a post on another thread that said said him and Spencer were rolling around on the mat pretty consistently.
That's good news at least.
Can Ayala wrestle 4 matchs and save shirtDrake is f*n to watch, I hope he can still make 125s next year.
No. That is rule is only for true freshman. I hope they see the benefit of it being extended to everyone else and change it.Can Ayala wrestle 4 matchs and save shirt
McDonough made 125 for 4 years.Drake is f*n to watch, I hope he can still make 125s next year.
Just because one person did it has no bearing if someone else can. All bodies are different.McDonough made 125 for 4 years.

I actually agree with you here - on all points made.I hope they get rid of the whole thing. And by that I mean redshirting in all sports. It is a really dumb and unnecessary concept in today's word. You get 5 years to play. Period. That's it.
Short of that, I hope they get rid of the 4 match rule. Also not necessary. The opportunities for redshirts to wrestle competitively are near endless.
A bit facetious yes. But Ayala will likely never be as big as McDonough - and its the same coaching staff. LOLJust because one person did it has no bearing if someone else can. All bodies are different.
I don’t think this was your point as you were just stating McDonough did it for 4 years, but Jesuroga will be coming in. Hopefully Ayala can make 25 for one year while giving Jesuroga all the time possible to grow.

He'll be fine for 125 next year, barring some Kemdawg 2-weight class jump. If all of the 2023 class shirt -
125 - Ayala
133 - Teske/Schreiver
141 - Real
149 - chittum/Reyna
157 - chittum/Siebrecht
165 - PK
174 - Nelson
184 - Assad
197 - Franklin
285 - Hill
Doesn't Cass have next year too?A bit facetious yes. But Ayala will likely never be as big as McDonough - and its the same coaching staff. LOL

I’d go with Glazier at 97 and maybe that Cass guy at 285.A bit facetious yes. But Ayala will likely never be as big as McDonough - and its the same coaching staff. LOL

Cass will be backCass has another year if he wants it. And if he doesn't, they need to be hitting the portal hard for a HWT.
He walks around bigger than everybody thinks.Drake is f*n to watch, I hope he can still make 125s next year.
yeah

No, 4 chances to compete at the NCAA championships regardless of number of regular season competitions across 5 years.5 chances at NCAAs?
Seeing this lineup vs last years lineup makes me a little ...A bit facetious yes. But Ayala will likely never be as big as McDonough - and its the same coaching staff. LOL

5 chances at NCAAs?
you're probably rightChittum/Rathjen 49 would be my guess.
Fair point. Carry on.Yes sir. It used to only be 3. The world didn't come crashing down when it went to 4. It's currently at 5 temporarily and I haven't noticed Armageddon (other than the one with Bruce, Ben, and Liv).
Really? Tell us more….after a chance to breath hill will beat cass for the spot.
Seriously? Will he be using a bat or mace or stun gun?after a chance to breath hill will beat cass for the spot.
So someone could (would) wrestle a regular season in which they were ineligible to compete in the NCAA championship? That would be weird. No, 4 chances to compete at the NCAA championships regardless of number of regular season competitions across 5 years.
