Any news on him and why dont we see guys like him wrestling in open tournaments unattached or does that burn a redshirt. Im assuming he steps right in foe Spencer next year.

He had surgery after the season so I am guessing he is waiting to get cleared. Otherwise, he can wrestle unattached and not lose his shirt.
Right - with all the bandages in our line up - would be smart to let him fully heal and also get stronger.
Saw a post on another thread that said said him and Spencer were rolling around on the mat pretty consistently.

No. That is rule is only for true freshman. I hope they see the benefit of it being extended to everyone else and change it.
McDonough made 125 for 4 years.

I don’t think this was your point as you were just stating McDonough did it for 4 years, but Jesuroga will be coming in. Hopefully Ayala can make 25 for one year while giving Jesuroga all the time possible to grow.
I hope they get rid of the whole thing. And by that I mean redshirting in all sports. It is a really dumb and unnecessary concept in today's word. Should be that you get 5 years to play. Period. That's it.
Short of that, I hope they get rid of the 4 match rule. Also not necessary. The opportunities for redshirts to wrestle competitively are near endless.

Yes sir. It used to only be 3. The world didn't come crashing down when it went to 4. It's currently at 5 temporarily and I haven't noticed Armageddon (other than the one with Bruce, Ben, and Liv).
So someone could (would) wrestle a regular season in which they were ineligible to compete in the NCAA championship? That would be weird.
