Better off without Krikke and Pmac

It’s fun to dunk on PMac but we also played very well with him at home against Nebraska, a very hot team. We’re a better team with him. Just not with him playing starter minutes.
I think pmac could easily fill a role similar to Nick Baer for most B10 teams and their fans would love him.

I do wish Fran would be willing to bring him off the bench. I think arguably he is our 5th best player (unless dix keeps playing like he did Monday) but I don’t think he fits with the other 4 starters.

Nick Baer was110% effort. Pmac is not that person. It is not in his nature.

PMac could play on the 2nd team with 2nd team minutes.
Ladji, Braun (for interior defense)
PMac for scoring (ugh, I know 27% 3pt FG%)
Harding and Bowen ( becaus 2 Bench PG at same is what Fran Do]

this is also somewhat hideous but it optimizes PMacs moderate Offense skills, augmented by 2 PG that can push the ball finding PMac for run out dunks, (which is his best offensive skill) with enough interior and exterior defenders to hide his lack of interest in D

If the point is PMAC could bet 6th man off the bench for Sandfort/Krikke/Dix---yes that should be his role to lead the 2nd team.

PMAC is the opposite of Baer...Baer was hard nosed---you don't go from walk on to starter without tougness. PMAC is more hang around perimeter/cherry pick cheap baskets....Baer was better at shot blocking, better rebounding, and he was willing to mix it up inside along being a better 3pt shooter 37% vs PMAC 32% on his career.

PMAC is about offense when he's hitting his shots...his talent is he can finish on breaks and he can usually get his own shot...he's a minus defender, minus rebounder. His lack of fouls is really telling about his willingness to mix it up.

those two don't belong in the same sentence. PMac is the antithesis of Nick Baer. I can't think of more opposite players...from HS thru Iowa. One earned everything he got thru effort, the other didn't.

Maybe we could implement a moratorium on the anti-PMac posts. Everyone has expressed their opinions, both positive and negative and despite the depth of your feelings, nothing you post amounts to a tinker's damn in the larger picture. There is only one man that will make the decision on Patrick's playing time. I just hope that whatever is bothering him can be quickly rectified. There are games that he may be needed.

Is the one man Mrs. Mac?

I think you’re missing the comparison. No one else will ever be Baer, but he had an up and down emotional component to his game that I see in Patrick. PMac thrives on good energy and a great play. That’s the similarity.

LOL emotion? The Patrick McCaffery comprison is never going to work no matter how hard you try. Baer was an effort player who battled for rebounds and loose balls, PMac is the poster child for laziness, his lack of effort is astonishing.

Yeah, I don't want to bash Patrick but Baer was the Energizer bunny and the epitome of a high energy maximum effort player. He did as much with his natural abilities as anyone that's worn the uniform. Patrick is definitely not that.
