Looks like Kelly's looking for a pay raise. Some tweets that ND will match LSU offer, so Kelly stays in Indiana. I also wonder, if Kelly did leave, if ND would want Fickel more than Campbell for the job.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Campbell go to Oklahoma.

I don't see any of the schools CMC would leave ISU for would actually want him. CMC knows he is a fraud, so I don't think he would take ND or OSU even if they were foolish enough to offer him.
If the ND job opened up and they offered Campbell, he would be stupid not to take it. If he turned it down that to me means that he doesn't want the pressure to win as he would have at a school like ND, where 7 to 8 wins would be acceptable at ISU.

Kelly is wound up way too tight to make it in Baton Rouge. I agree with others: this is for a pay bump.
Seems like a strange move for Kelly - maybe he feels lower academic standards will help his recruiting?

Kelly got the all time wins record at ND but knows the academic standards hold him back from a Natty. He's going to LSU because it's talent rich and they have no standards. He can win a title there.
Notice a difference in Kelly versus Lincoln Riley. Riley ran from the SEC to a spot where he could win comfortably. Kelly is going right into the SEC when he easily could have stayed at ND, won a ton of games, and retired there. Kelly's got guts, IMO.

ND alum friends of mine are texting me — $15M/yr for Kelly at LSU. If true, crazy money.
I don’t understand this move. Hes been to what 3 FCS championships. He has alot of leeway if he has an average season or two. Hell it seems he can be between 9-3 and 11-1 with no worries. Why leave for a stress filled LSU
100% correct. His name gets thrown around by the media, but he never gets the offers. He is afraid of expectations. I am not sure why anyone would want him as a coach.
Notre Dame sells itself. Brian Kelly was at Cincy before ND, so I don’t think Fickle will have problems recruiting.
Iowa State might have dodged a bullet by having a disappointing season. There’s no doubt Campbell would be gone if ND offered. I’m guessing Matt Campbell isn’t at the top of their list.
