Lot of interesting points on here returning. But I think if we win tomorrow odds she comes back for a 5th year diminish greatly if she gets a natty. Roster of her core 4 starters with her all gone in 2 years from now. I think she gets pts record in 4 years barring something that keeps her from missing games.
She will make a killing next 12 months on nike 22 Iowa shirts. Thing is what’s so special about her won’t be just girls buying them. Adults will buy them up male and female. I know friend he’s getting one for himself and 2 girls to wear to the games. I bet plenty of students will wear them as well. But even more so I think she’ll be the 1st really big wnba Jersey to sell when she goes pro. I think college bigger draw than wnba but she will help wnba and make just as much if not more if goes and racks up some national endorsements.
That is remarkable considering the scoring she displayed. Amazing, historical night it was.
Will she average 30 or more next year? I think there is a chance and will be interesting to see what happens.
Definitely need a very good rebounder and shooter at the 4/5. Just do not see that player on the roster unless Stulke and current 5's make a great deal of progress off-season.i think we need to get a big in the transfer portal. if not, you might be right.
I would be a little surprised if she goes after a big in the portal, unless she knows someone is leaving. Bluder is a lot like Fran, she believes in who she has and will not want to mess up team chemistry. If it is someone who has two to three years, I could see that but not one. I think they need someone more athletic, that is for sure. I like O'Grady but her foot speed is just not what it needs to be. Ediger and Goodman are both kinda unknown due to injuries and Gyamfi is a major unknown.i think we need to get a big in the transfer portal. if not, you might be right.
O'Grady is a little slow for Iowa's pace but she is a load inside. Could me a major rebound, it looks like she knows how to get position on both ends, and she has the best post coach in the country.I would be a little surprised if she goes after a big in the portal, unless she knows someone is leaving. Having said that, if you're a big girl somewhere playing center you might see a big hole that just opened in Iowa's roster.
It is really two holes. C and PF. Stuelke is great at some things, but multiple costly turnovers in the first half showed her youth. O’Grady is a serviceable backup center, but right now isn’t ready for anything more than 10 minutes per game. She relies on her height but doesn’t show much athleticism, agility, or skill right now. She looks lumbering when moving around. Both will need to make major strides in the off-season for us not to take a major step back next year.O'Grady is a little slow for Iowa's pace but she is a load inside. Maddy Seigrest from Villanova is not using her Covid year and going to the WNBA draft after four years, so Caitlin will have a fair chance to break the NCAA all time scoring record next year in four seasons. Now if she did use her fifth year she could also beat the AIAW record (pre-NCAA) of Lynette Woodard that is another 127 points higher than Kelsey Plum's NCAA record. Saw Woodard with the Globetrotters here in Sioux City back in elementary school and she actually played the first couple years of the WNBA even though she was already 37 years old when it started.
Honestly if there was some 6’4” athletic center out there looking to transfer in, you have to find room for her. Lack of height killed us these last few games. We’re not going to play multiple massive bigs at any time, but one would be game changing for us.
Spot on. Whose out there that would not like a couple of seasons with CC? I'm guessing a lot of big girls are looking for this right now.
Hope you are right because I think Iowa needs one to make another run.Totally agree. Everyone's eyes have been on Iowa. So, if you are an elite big who's been watching Iowa during this historic 3 week run, how could you say "no" to Lisa and CC and the opportunity?
