It really is. I never got into subtitled movie or TV shows until Narcos Mexico came around. Same with British shows…Peaky Blinders converted me.

They at least mix in enough English to keep you in it. If it were all subtitles it would be too hard to stay focused for most. You would then end up with a dubbed version and most can’t handle that…
Peaky Blinders is an amazing show. Cillian Murphy is an Elite actor. Tom Hardy.. Paul Anderson. I could binge watch that anytime

Yes it is. First season is a bit unsteady at times, but 2-4 are amazing.
It does an incredible job of mixing fictional characters with real pirates from the golden age of piracy. Wonderful prequel to Treasure Island.

Not sure if this one was hit, but just watched Mud, with MM (McConaughy, not Mesenbrink). I mean . . . wow. Not only McC (one of his best), but equally elevated by the two child actors playing Ellis and Neckbone (helluva nickname). This tale of two southern kids helping a heartbroke felon get back to a girl (Reese With) he can’t see the white trash in is too good to miss . . . though I managed to do so over 10 years

I think I would prefer all subtitles (even for the English). I don't understand why the Portuguese aren't speaking Portuguese with subtitles. Why is it that there are only subtitles when a character speaks Japanese? Just doesn't make much sense to me.
Guess I never was the half-assed type (entirely ass, or none at all).
It would have been too much. Portuguese and Japanese subtitles, also with english speaking. Good decision by the showrunners.
Now have you finished it? Gloriously understated and fulfliling.

I have to admit, I have latched on hard to Presumed Innocent. By far, the best thing Jake Gyllenhaal has been in. So far(4 episodes), it is very well written. They keep throwing out hints to make you think you know who did it and then they add curveballs to make you start second guessing.
Ok. I'll trust you on this one and give it a watch. The trailer made it look like a carbon copy cheated-on-his-wife-did-he-do-it carbon copy.
Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman did one for HBO last year that was just eh, so I wasn't ready to go down that road again.

And i'd say with repeated viewings The Bear does get better. The details, the writing and acting is damn near perfect.
Jakie G has been in some amazing movies. Have you seen Prisoners? Zodiac? Source Code is criminally underrated.
Also I finished Masters of the Air last night.

I definitely agree. Source Code was a very pleasant surprise.
I think he has done some very good stuff. But, so far, this is by far the best character fit for his abilities.
Again, so far, every emotion, action and reaction has been 100% believable.
Loved the first season. Couldn't get past the second episode of season 2. Felt really stilted and forced to me, idk.
Man... re-watch it. You're missing out on one of the best episodes in TV - Fishes.
Isn't it based on the same Scott Turow book as the Harrison Ford movie? I might watch, if it wasn't a series version of the movie. I am not much for remakes.
He was phenomenal in Prisoners and October Sky is one of my favorite "family" movies.
So damn enjoyable.
All I can say is, try it and see. So far it is modernized and changed significantly(as a series it is already much longer and considerably more detail based).
I also had similar apprehensions and held off for quite some time, but I ended up watching it after the Dark Matter finale and got completely hooked…
I liked The Covenant although it was the translator who stole the movie. Jake G was good though.
