Nope, if you read you'd know he's getting 3.8mill in nil!I haven't read the whole thread, but he could possibly want to go to grad school and Iowa doesn't offer his field or another school has a better program than Iowa.

Purdue also seems to have a better track record of getting WRs to the league compared to IowaNot sure I find that to be overly funny, but in terms of playing time, it looks like it would potentially be an easier battle at purdue than at Iowa. They already have taken 2 transfers at WR.
What's the differenceDo you honestly think that Charlie Jones is getting a large NIL deal? Or that someone would tamper to garner his services?
between being buried in the depth chart or moving to purude for a better opportunity? I'd say it's a fairly big difference for Iowa. You have players that have stepped up enough that limit Jones' PT, or Jones sees how shitty the offense is going to be after spending the entire spring trying to better himself and the program. What's the difference
na, his transfer won't limit Tracy's PT.Well ain't that a bitch. Poor Tyrone Tracy is gonna be losing reps if he goes to Purdue.
except were thin at TE as well......Wasn't the case, when exactly? Care to provide your insider information at this point? there is zero doubt in my mind they are going to utilize the 2 TE approach more often this fall as well.
Meh, with the grad transfer stepping in, I feel better there. The loss of the two this year certainly hurt though.except were thin at TE as well......
unless you're PurdueAnd you'll still lose to them.
Maybe he was just like yeah this offense is still going to suck. I'm out.
To show how inept Iowa's passing offense is. Jones had 18 receptions for 395 yards as a Freshman at Buffalo. In two years at Iowa he had 21 catches and 323 yards.
Why indeed?!Why? This makes no sense, does it?
That was my first thought. It seems like a vote of no confidence in our offense.Maybe he was just like yeah this offense is still going to suck. I'm out.
I wish him well, but if this translates to more minutes for Bruce then I am also happy…😎Wow, rough day, unless someone in that core is really progressing.
It doesn't take years to learn other offenses--just ours.So he is going to a new school and doesn't even have Spring ball to learn the offense and earn a spot on the WR ladder.
OK. Good luck, Charlie. It was pretty good for a while.
Who? Charlie's bio says he went to Deerfield. The only Illinois QB on Purdue's roster is O'Connell and it says he went to Stevenson. His childhood friend/teammate is the QB there and they need a WR.
Yep, was told this today as well he's got some Charlie Jones in him! Also wouldn't be a bit surprised to see the walkon Kaden Wetjen from Iowa Western get into the return game. His film is pretty damn impressive.

Five miles from each other O'Connell (Lincolnshire, IL) and Jones (Deerfield, IL). Probably "pre-HS" teammates.Who? Charlie's bio says he went to Deerfield. The only Illinois QB on Purdue's roster is O'Connell and it says he went to Stevenson.
When tracey left i thought that was a win-win (for both iowa and tracey). in this case however, i’m a bit disappointed coz we’ll miss jones i think. and yes i agree with the previous poster that (if pu is where he’s going) jones will likely take most of the reps tracey thought he would.
this would be amazing but let’s be realistic. imo chances are miniscule to none. i’m just hopeful we’ll put someone other than ragaini or cooper to field punts.Nwankpa talent in the return game has shown is my guess.
makes sense. he has to do entirely something else if jones is landing thereTracy is apparently going to get a ton of running back work
It's a big loss. Any injury issues at wr are gonna be big trouble....At face value, certainly looks like a big loss.
We'll know in a few months.
LolCould be the emergence of Brody Brecht, the WR room has some very young talented players and I think now the coaching staff has figured out we need to use these play makers.
Apparently same with RBI hate to say this but if you are a WR who thinks you may have a shot at the next level and you are looking to put together a productive year on tape prior to next year's draft, Iowa is probably one of the worst places you could choose to do that.
Deerfield and Stevenson are only a couple of miles miles apart. They played travel football and baseball together. That’s how it works in here.Who? Charlie's bio says he went to Deerfield. The only Illinois QB on Purdue's roster is O'Connell and it says he went to Stevenson.
Have to do assume the injury bug will bite. Losing that experience sucks....While I am sad to see Jones leave, it's not the end of the world. He was behind Ragaini and ahead of Bruce in the depth chart, and we all know that Bruce was probably going to be on top of that by the first game if he wasn't already defacto. He was a great returner for Iowa but I think the youth movement there might have made him nervous. Good luck to him wherever he ends up except when he plays against Iowa (if he ever does).
Well, there is a first time for everything. LOLyou are making far too much sense.
Which is funny, because that's exactly what Iowa asked him to do.Tracy is apparently going to get a ton of running back work
Can you explain why he was behind Ragaini, does Nicole do anything to break a game? While I am sad to see Jones leave, it's not the end of the world. Son of B… I dam sure don’t want this to be the case!
Like ISM, right?I hate to say this but if you are a WR who thinks you may have a shot at the next level and you are looking to put together a productive year on tape prior to next year's draft, Iowa is probably one of the worst places you could choose to do that.
So you consider 1 in a decade to be good or even average?Like ISM, right?
As I said, he is really behind Bruce. If Bruce weren't there, he wouldn't be leaving. Can you explain why he was behind Ragaini, does Nicole do anything to break a game?
