Dembele gone!

I’m ok with Dembele leaving. I’m done with West Des Moines and West Africa. Give me dem boys who steal, beat, smoke and shoot. Jamal Tinsley, Deandre Kane, Brice DeJean Jones, Talon Horton Tucker and Royce White.
I want similar players, but I would never use clown fucccks as examples. Nothing lower than a cryclown. Disgusting!

He's another player that I could see becoming a force under McCullom. Showed signs at the end of the season, when he stopped floating around the 3pt line and started using his athleticism around the hoop
Totally agree. Has a prototypical power forward build. If he developed inside he could be a double-double type player. Never happen playing at the arc.

Dembele lacked agility, decisiveness, ball handling, jumping ability, defensive quickness, passing ability, toughness when fouling, toughness when rebounding. Whoever takes him on as a project, good luck to you.
You left out fundamentals (like understanding what a double-dribble is). Besides all that, he was pretty average.

He gone.

Dude is better suited for coming off the bench for Northern Illinois.
"Gone with an exclamation point"?

What's your deal man? Even if Ladji happened to suck, celebrating him possibly leaving is really weak.

And Ladji doesn't suck. He has great potential as a defender and rebounder. And a really nice 3 or stroke.

He just still very raw. He hasn't been playing basketball that long, and hasn't been coached up to speed on the defensive end. Ladji isn't slow. He's just sees the game slowly on the defensive end and isn't able to anticipate. McCollum would do wonders with him on that end

If they defend and rebound and tough I'm in

Wahhhhhhhh

Dembele's problem was he took up the game late. Never got the nuances of the game. He might still be around when the new coach comes in and might be able to find time, not a starter probably. You guys that bury players after a year or two need to look in the mirror, wow

His shot selection was horrible. He got the ball and it was going up. He's got a good shot but when you have low offensive IQ it's really hard to justify minutes in my mind. Also I didn't see much defensively. He's not long, not tall or really overwhelming athletic. Seems like a mid-major type player.

The guy has a lot of upside yet.

He improved his last few games, he finally figured out he needs to rebound. He’s not athletic, but he is thick and strong. I could see him being a Reggie Evans type player if he works hard enough. We’ve got two years invested in him, I’d like to see whether that experience pays off.

How much of that was due to coaching? Fran seems to be overly in love with bigs shooting 3s.
Hard to say when Fran was clearly checked out this year. He took shots that Fran would normally pull you for. I'd say it's bball IQ because that's not Fran's offense. He likes high assists, ball movement, ball reversals and passing. Dembele did none of that but again Fran was checked out this year.

You watched this team all year. That's some dedication.

Reggie Evans mind set was like Rodman's. Every ball was his.

I agree. He was getting better but just didn't have the same instincts as someone who played from an early age.

He wasn't anywhere near as physical as he could have been with that wide body.
