Nearly had this happen to me last year. Got on the highway and saw a minivan in front of me with a big sheet of plywood on the roof held on with just a thin strap. As he picked up speed it started to bend and buck around. I got into the right hand exit lane to get out from behind him but as soon as I did the strap broke and the board flew into the air. I swerved onto the shoulder but the board did sail over my car. Guy never stopped.
