ESPN'S #24 GAME OF '17 IOWA VS ISU

The game was as good as it could be last year and both Iowa and Iowa State beat the team that eventually won their conference in OSU and OU, has that ever happen in the same season?
I imagine it has at some point, but I'm not going to go through the process of finding out ;).

The thing I found impressive was that when TCU and OU played for the Big XII championship, both had only one loss on their record....and in both cases, it was ISU.

THAT hasn't happened a lot in the past.

Better than? c'mon man I'll give you Hakeem but I think TE are receivers and the Hawks got two of them on the Mackey watch list. I'll be generous and call the receivers a toss up.
He did say every group so that included TE’s and Dline lol

ISU lost Murdock, Ryen, and Lazard and their receiver group is better? Ok

No kidding. I love when teams lose a great player or players and assume the guys next year will fill in his shoes with out missing a beat. Be like us thinking our back up LBs won't miss a step and Jones will do what Jewell did last year.

Funny thing is as much as they want to say how bad Iowa's WR were last year they conveniently forget Iowa's WR group had 4 TDs in the game last year and guys who caught 3 of the 4 return this year. Plus the aforementioned Fant and Hockenson duo at TE.

yeah, uh no. Our TE is on the Mackey list as well and our wideouts are significantly better.

And how many touchdown catches did the clones TE have last year?
If we can hit the "pause" button on the smack machine for a second, the TE thing at Iowa State last year was really odd. Chase Allen (freshman, son of former UNI and KU coach Terry Allen) was voted second-team all-conference......after catching 4 (count'em, four) passes last season. That's four PASSES, not four TD passes.

OK, back to smack......

He just voted by the coaches, right?

Hmm...well known coach's son, seems pretty obvious why he stood out on the ballot, and it wasn't for his non-existent stat line.

That would mean he was the grandson of former Iowa men's swimming coach Bob Allen
