it is quite possible he hyper extended both knees at initial impact, was then concussed, and then broke all sorts of bones when he landed and the hay rolled over him.

I kind of wondered before I posted, whether he lived or not. That bale going over him had to do some serious damage.

edit: although the guy clearly was doing it on purpose. Darwin award

Our ex offensive line coach used to train them to do that as part of his discipline training. If it was a busted play they were supposed to stay in their stance, or something like that. There were times when the entire offensive line stayed put while the defense chased the QB around or nailed him.
Dumbest damn thing ever out of a lot of dumb Rick Trickett moves.

These have educational value.
Yeah not sure how people can be so dumb, especially the ones that look like they are suppose to be a professional business. Every branch we cut down that was a significant size was tied off with a rope first and lowered to where we wanted it set down at. Those people are crazy, good way to catch the dead.

Iā€™m in Lone Pine right now planning to summit Whitney tomorrow. Damn shame I donā€™t bring my clubs with this trip.
Bring lots of water/preferably a filter. Saw lots of people needing help due to dehydration when we did it. No water after Consultation Lake/Trail camp. Watch out for the marmots if you're staying overnight, they will eat thru bags to get your food.

Good advice! Doing it as a day hike. Have my handy Sawyer mini filter and capacity for 4 liters.
