PG's should be measured by their impact on the game. One PG that has more points and equal or more Assists will impact their team more than one that has fewer.

Why not award wins and losses based on FG% that is what you were touting earlier.
That is the thing with clown fans. Show something that proves their myopia is misguided and they meltdown and demand that the goalpost be moved until they get it right.
Points and Assists don't matter. FG% is all that counts. Nope it isn't FG% that matters it is how many turnovers you had. No check that, it isn't turnovers that matters really it is steals.
For the life of me though, I have yet to find any game were the winner of a game was determined by anything other than total points. But that doesn't even slow clown fans down.

I totally agree with you on impact. Don't forget turnovers since a pg has the ball in their hands the most. Let's also include steals and rebounds for extra posessions for the team. Then finally we can look at total wins and losses for the team. I don't believe there is any way that you can go that will support your claim, but have at it. Let's also include Jersey retirement if you like. Like I said, we can wait 3 more years for the bohanon kid to put in his time.
No Herkyfan, you are right about FG% and assist:turnover ratio and all the other numbers.
But points aren't the numbers we should compare either. The key number we need to compare is wins and Monte Morris has proven to be an integral part to a team that has consistently performed at a high level over the course of an entire season for four seasons.
I'm sure your Hawkeye friends on this board would agree that they would be happy to have have a few more games in the "W" column, regardless of how many points Bohannon scored.

So go back and prove to the world Monte had more impact. Don't sing it bring it. Prove Monte's steals and rebounds had a bigger impact than that of Jordan's. Go play by play and prove it.

Jordan already has scored more points than Monte did his freshman year and if he ends up with the same or more assists then he impacted his team more than Monte. Despite this clown fans have been claiming Jordan sucks and Monte is all world. Despite what the stats from their freshmen years actually says.

I like JBo and am surprised he has contributed as significantly as he has this season. Similarly, there is a discussion on the Cyclone board comparing Tinsley vs. Morris. Both led their teams to a lot of big wins.
OK, let's look at Monte's freshman season. The Clones went 28-8, with a B12 Tournament Championship, and a sweet 16 appearance where they lost to eventual National Champion UCONN. You aren't having a very good day are you?
So go back and quantify all the impact Monte had his freshman year and do the same for Jordan. Then the entire world should be able to see clearly who is a fall back recruit with no talent as clown fans argue.

When I was a senior in college, we had a shooting guard by the name of Hercle Ivy. Some of you old timers may remember him. He's averaged 25 points a game and was among the national leaders in scoring.
Yet the team went something like 5-23 for the season. 5 wins. FIVE. There's more to the game than how many points your freshman point guard has scored.

I never said it was just points scored where Jordan will end up just as good if not better than Monte in his freshman year. But as usual clown fans only want to read or acknowledge what they pick and choose to.

This great season Lil Jordan is having will lead them right to....no post season play. Meanwhile, Monte went to the sweet 16 as a frosh. Keep making the argument, too funny. Your basketball team is in its typical end of season tailspin but hey, you got some great freshman who cant get above .500 in one of the worst basketball conferences in the country. You will have 3 more seasons just like this, should be fun to watch. Please don't fire Fran, ISU fans want him in place for years to come. I didn't expect a lot from the Hawks this year. I am still waiting for the legions of clown fans that saw 9 losses for the mighty clowns to this point including losses to Iowa, Vandy and Texas.
Maybe this clown fan can provide it for us. I am willing to bet they can't because clown fan myopia and insecurity towards big bro Iowa is legendary.
Oh and why would a clown fan give us congrats for winning our Super Bowl against Purdue?

I hate to side with the clone fans, but mostly agree with them on the Morris topic. The crazy thing is, we probably could have had Morris if Fran would have wanted him with the Marble family connection, but he put all of his eggs in one basket with Ulis. How good would Iowa have been with him at PG the last 4 years? He is a great college PG and an all time great Clone.

If you would have told Iowa State fans they'd be tied for 2nd with four games left to play in the Big 12 and projecting towards a six seed in the tournament I think 99% of them would have been thrilled. 4, 5, 6 seeds in the tournament are pretty interchangeable and give you a great chance to make a run in the tournament.
