I don't know how that sort of thing could have possibly happened before the Big Ten Championship Game was a thing. Maybe in the very, very early years of college football, like before they started keeping records.
Anyone notice that there is a real possibility that Clemson and ND could play 3 times this season?
Which is exactly why Clemson should be out if they lose in the ACC championship game. For as much as I dislike Notre Dame, it is unfair to ask them to beat the same team three time in one season.
The only way that could happen is a Clemson win Saturday. Then do they play in a semifinal game or ..........?

No way Clemson gets in with a second loss. A&M would take their spot.
