HOLY S%$T!! Harris 47 Trump 44, Final Selzer IOWA POLL!

Obviously if that plays out, it portends a big night for Harris. Or at least bigger than I’d expect. We’ll see, I guess.

Big kudos to selzer for publishing it. Takes a hell of a lot of courage and honesty to go so far against the grain (including your own prior polls), particularly when you carry the kind of reputation that she carries. Really, just “chapeau!”

There are reasons to think that this year’s polls might be underestimating the amount of uncertainty in the election (which would be artificially making many polls look like they are tied or very close, even if the underlying data suggests they might not be).

This might be purposeful, through a process call “herding,” in which no pollster wants to be an outlier and so ends up making intentional choices that put them in line with other pollsters and their results. But it might also be a side product of pollsters being more careful about how they weight people who respond to their sample, which might be causing the variation we expect to see in the polls to shrink.

I'm ready boss man.

This has been said, but any pollster who won't release their methodology is simply an opinion piece at this point.

I predict Trump in Iowa by 2%.

MIL lives in rural Iowa, her and her entire social group hate Trump and voted accordingly.
You know who is the most vocal this election cycle? Harris voters. You know who is the least? Trump voters. Maybe more so than in the past but still don't tend to be interested in virtue signaling their vote.

This is a fact......those that are voting for Trump don't care if you know it and don't want your approval.

Do either candidates give a sh** about the state of Iowa?

Since the answer is no, then no Iowan, in good faith, should vote for either candidate.

This is patently stupid. I’m not electing the president of Iowa. I’m electing the president of the United States and it’s my job to use my judgment to vote for who I think would do the best job, not try to determine who cares the most about Iowa.

“How stupid are the people of Iowa?”

LOL - That's on the caregivers (hospitals) not Donald Trump. The Supreme Court corrected a bad decision that was made 50 years ago.

If Trump wins Iowa by only 2%, that is definitely overachieving by Harris or underachieving by Trump. Which ever way you would like to describe it. That would put Selzers poll the most accurate at this point.

The only thing the Democrats in Iowa are familiar with is losing. Period.
True. Can’t deny it. Dems in Iowa, like their national bretheren are terrible at their messaging. The past decade Dens have relied on Iowa Repubbers to overstep.. and thus might finally have happened. The GOO fear abd loathing of Sand is case in point…. That coupled with Reynolds abd the Legislatures curtailing of the AG and Auditir’s responsibilities were the first real clue that Iowa Republicans were being corrupted by their acquisition of power…proving that “absolute power corrupts absolutely”..The people of Iowa are tiring of the Reynolds Clown Show coming to them from Des Moines Eastside…

Actually not! Iowa GOP members are relishing the prosperity and the leadership the Honorable Governor Kim Reynolds has brought to the people of Iowa.

None of this makes any actual sense.

Still waiting for you to pay back to the state the tax break Reynolds gave you on your SS.

I have paid “the State” every cent I owed..not taxing 401/403 $$ is just a poor idea…in my opinion. The agreement made when this money was deferred was taxes would be paid upon its distribution… an agreement folks knowingly accepted when they started these accounts…
It is nothing more than a giant pander to retirees and to basic human greed. Again, my opinion.

Say you’re right…that’s still a TERRIBLE result for trump and doesn’t bode well for him overall.

You’re talking about a state he won easily 4 years ago now being effectively a tossup.

Holy LIBTARDS!! In no way shape or form is Iowa going to dipshit Harris. You people are f**king deranged idiots!

Doesn't either candidate need to be able to do a good job as President first, before you decide which one will do the best job out of your poor options?.........

Spare me your opinion that either one is a good option and would do fine as President. You all had your chance. We're beyond that now.

not try to determine who cares the most about Iowa.
Well that's just patently stupid...... ;)

WTF? No. That doesn't make sense at all.

Honestly, no. One of them will be president. I need to pick one and at least vote for the least bad of the two.

Standing there and stamping my feet and refusing to participate because I don’t like the options is toddler behavior.

You need to?...........Is there a law that requires you to pick one of only two options or else? What you're describing is sheep behavior. You're not a sheep, are you Bryce? ;)

Standing there and stamping my feet and refusing to participate because I don’t like the options is toddler behavior.
Which is why I won't be standing around and stamping my feet, Bryce.................that accomplishes nothing. Remember, you all had your chance. ;)

Keep responding to that child if you want this to go on all night. You'll collect a lot of laugh emojis though.
