It’s even a bridge. Well done

Spooner doesn’t care what I say anymore. He knows how I am. I want him to come over to my house some weekend and see who is in the house and what goes on.

He’s the the one that posted my kid made the podium. I didn’t post a damn thing. Anyone can look at the DM Register and see who was the top story on day one at state. Flat Effing Stanley.
Naw… I was just expecting spooner to come by just to mention your smoke show wife.

Souci was correct about HS kids being honest with a cool adult. My Dad was exactly this way with my circle of friends. I always trusted that my Dad would know what to do in ANY situation no matter how crazy and I came to find out most of my friends felt that way about my Dad too.
True story: I was 12 years old wrestling at 94lbs in 7th grade... my oldest brother wrestled at 112 lbs as a 9th grader so he was small for his age and my brother "Tyler" had been getting bullied by these guys for several months and they weren't going to stop...it was a case of my brother never fully "tucking tail", he would be respectful yet would never cower to them (Our Dad always taught us to stick up for ourselves and others, we all knew we had his permission to throw blows as long as we didn't start it) and I think that made them want to bully Tyler even more. Tyler and their ringleader even had 3 remediations with the principal that were supposed to help sort things out....THREE! Mr "ringleader" would just try to stare him down the whole time so things kept getting worse and finally they started telling Tyler and everyone else too how they're going to kick his ass at the dance (everybody would congregate at this pizza place afterwards with a large alley behind it). Tyler tells my Dad the latest and asks him if he'd drive my brother over to fight this guy afterwards so that he can make sure none of his friends jump in. I remember my Dad's response too "Yep, I'll go kid." BTW, this bully has about 6" and weight on my small "big" brother. So after the dance I was at the pizza place (we went to a 7th - 9th Jr High school) trying to figure out the best way to get my 1st french kiss off my little gf when somebody yelled "Tyler's here!" Everybody rushes outside and I see the crowd parting as Tyler walks through the center followed about 10 ft behind by my Dad towards "ringleader" whose jumping around like he's billy badass. I was so damn nervous I was shaking (prob why the details have always been clear). Tyler says "Here I am, now's your chance." My Dad steps inbetween and yells "GO!". At my age I thought my brother was DOMINANT....hindsight though he just took him down and controlled him while getting some 112 lb punches in. Billy badass starts yelling "lemme up! Get him off me!" One of his friends took one step into the center before he was ripped backwards by his hair curteousy of my Pops.....Tyler doesn't see that, but he still pauses and looks up at my Dad as if asking "should I let him up?" My Dad leans towards them and screams loud enough for everyone to hear... "He didn't have mercy on you!!!!! You don't have mercy on him!!! RIP HIS ****ING HEAD OFF!!!!" Hearing that like choked me up from the emotion of it, I think that was the first time I heard my Dad say the F word too. Then some lady from the pizza place walked through the kids and said "the cops are on their way!" My Dad quickly ducked his head while ushering Tyler out of there. Later I found out my Dad had parked 1/3 of mile down the road with my youngest brother Dusty in the car (my parents were divorced and it was my Dad's weekend). He told Dusty "Make sure you stay down" which at 8 years old I can guarantee he did. Even the teacher's at the school were telling me to tell my brother congratulations...that's how out of hand it was. My buddy Joe wrecked his car drunk, fled the scene, and was close enough to my Dad's that that's where he walked without me even being there, so yeah I think kids know when it's safe to talk to an adult about stuff.
PS. I had to wait 2 more months for my 1st kiss with her friend....lol
TLDR.

2 top 20 P4P kids in the 2022 class with more to come.

Now Riggins hurts a bunch.

Garvin is more of an optics issue than anything.
Who are those 2? Not trying to be a smart ass, I truly don't know (or forgot is likely as well) and follow just a little in regards to the Clones recruiting.

Is Casey the one that beat Ayala a few years back? Or is it his brother. Think Ayala went up in weight for that one.

Well @SPOONER, I always had your back. That’s over with now you’re a POS to me just like you are to everyone else on this board, I know I am too, so you can kiss my ass. I’ll see ya.
.

You know I wasn’t serious of course. I guess I don’t get the hate you get for your opinions. I enjoy it.

OK, so it's time for my riveting, unappreciated view of why Dresser and boys can't recruit the State of Iowa.

No high schooler remembers when ISU was good. Hell, these recruits dads were in junior high last time the Clones won a Natty. Most of the kids don't even remember when Cael was at ISU. And speaking of that, I hope Clone fans know where the blame points when they wonder why CS left...Jammie Freaking Pollard!!!!!!

Now the issue today. Metcalf/DSJ simply have no cred and can't finish the sale. Dresser laughs every time he cashes his check at the bank. The Hawks have owned the State and always will.

ISU might get a few out of Staters every now and then, but there are nearly a dozen programs around the country that have passed ISU and aren't looking back.

ISU isn't sniffing top ten with the current staff.

There is definitely a problem with their recruiting. Maybe Ames is not that alluring of a place, but I think it has more to do with the staff. They just can't seem to sell the programs and convince kids that Ames is the place to be the best they can be. Why that is - who knows. Maybe Dresser cannot relate to the kids and maybe the assistants can't relate to the kids or maybe ISU is a crapy place to be.

I mean would you rather go to a football game in Ames or at PSU or Iowa or Ohio State or OSU or Michigan or who knows where else. There is a lot of school spirit at those places. Whatever the reason for the tough sell - they are not getting it done.

As a father of a son who was recruited as a D1 athlete in an Olympic sport (swimming not wrestling) by Iowa, Ohio State and Northwestern but chose Stanford instead, I would have swayed him to attend Iowa if he was a wrestler. There’s no comparison between wrestling at Iowa and the Big Ten vs. Stanford and the Pac 10.
I do not think the difference is that big of a deal, if the staff at Sanford is what it is now. Stanford can find the tough competition if they want to - just like ASU is doing. No doubt the Big 14 is rugged day in and day out, but any D1 program worth its salt is rugged day in and out.

The thing we forget is that kids who leave Stanford have a useful degree and not all those leaving the Big schools can say that. There is no guarantee you will be a starter at a Big school, so its s nice to have a piece fo paper with some meaning to it.

Let's not forget to mention the team colors.. they've done their best to hide it but they still bleed ketchup and mustard. That'd be enough for me not to go there no matter how good they are.

Depends on what you go to school for. A worthless degree is a worthless degree no matter where it's obtained. IMHO
