<<Question about the monthly auto-pay. At the end of the year do you get the donation "package" that all your monthly contributions add up to?>>
No, I made the decision to send the appreciation gift based on a 12 month donation. . I believe most will do that-- no doubt there will be some attrition but I am hoping that is not the case.
Awesome post. Folks, make no mistake, these are the kind of guys we have coaching and wrestling for the Iowa program and the HWC. Iowans and Iowa fans can be proud not only of the way they work their tails off to win on the mat, but also the kind of men they are off the mat.A short story of why my wife doesnt mind me donating to HWC even though money is tight.
Four years ago my son was diagnosed with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) In short he went from being a pretty good wrestler to a wheel chair (for 6 weeks) in the span of 2 weeks. He had gone to High Altitude for some of the short camps and when Chad found out he contacted some people in IC. Shortly after that Matt McDounough called my son to encourage him. He was obvioulsy nervous and had never met us before, but he took the time to call anyway. It was a small thing but meant a lot to us. He even told us to call if we needed him again. If you needed a reason to squeeze out a few more dollars I just gave you one.

Anybody got some good stock advice? Seriously, I would love to contribute any profit.
find a primary silver producer. get the certificate in your hand. put it somewhere safe. look at the quote every couple of months. if you have stock with a broker it is theirs. believe me.Anybody got some good stock advice? Seriously, I would love to contribute any profit.

And if you did this for the last five years, you now have 1/3 of what you started with.
A few pennies more than what you started with.Care to figure out what you would have if you had done it for the previous 10 years ahead of the last five?

Sorry, I misread your post. If you invested five years ago, you lost a crapload of money. Ten years ago, you barely broke even. If you were lucky to get in fifteen years ago (and too dumb to cash out for the last ten years), you made a profit. If at any of those stages you invested in a broad DJIA index fund, you hugely outperformed silver.Mucho pennies.
Past performance, as you should be acutely aware of, is not indicative of future performance. You asked for stock advice. I'll take Fortuna Silver and re-visit in say, 5 years. You're excused, Undercover! Strong work, pulling the thread back on topic! We had a tangent in this thread that was pretty far off the purpose and it was getting a little slow so I had to add what I can as a young recently turned 22 year old.

Edit: sorry WWDM forgot to say "match me"
Exactly! you can step across the Mississippi river in MN but by the time all the smaller streams feed it it is a long way across just by the time it hits Ft Madison. Keep feeding the BEAST.The increments are, without question, small -- but imagine 10,000+ people doing the same thing. KABOOM! Just another of many revenue streams being set up to feed the HWC and help it grow into a BEAST of a club and RTC!
One of the many things the DSM group will be doing all spring and summer will be promoting the heck out of this event. It's a great night of wrestling -- might as well make it another great fundraiser for the HWC. I know I'll be doing all I can to attend, and those VIP tickets look might enticing. The first 50 fans to purchase a VIP ticket will receive the following benefits: On the mat seating, a VIP badge, an IAwrestle branded Rudis hat that is exclusive to VIP members, and one autographed program signed by all HWC wrestlers/coaches.
Reminder: All proceeds benefit the Hawkeye Wrestling Club.
I understand there are a lot of factors in play when trying to schedule a venue but the Friday night scheduling renders this dead in the water for people that don't live within an hour or two of Iowa City. I would likely have to leave work by 2 to get to the arena on time, and I have limited vacation time as it stands. I would love to go to this event, but likely won't make it because it's on a Friday. Coincidentally, I have the same issue for a good portion of Iowa's home meets. One of the many things the DSM group will be doing all spring and summer will be promoting the heck out of this event. I understand that your options are limited, and the Friday night before the tournament is helpful in getting people to participate that also wish to participate in the tournament. Just saying that Friday nights can be really difficult for out of town people to attend. I'm appreciative of all the work IAwrestle doesWe would love to have it on a Saturday night but due to the Conflict at Carver tournament it just doesn't work. Getting Carver ain't easy so we'll take any night for an event like this.
Event usually starts around 7:30-8. Stay tuned for more updates.
Tricky indeed. Especially with football Friday nights...It does get tricky coming in from DSM. Still, hoping I can make it work. With some planning in advance, hopefully a good number DSM fans will make it.
Good point, Multi. For that matter, I'm probably out of commission if Valley has a home game. Hopefully, you guys at IAWrestle had the good sense to avoid a Valley home game.Tricky indeed. Especially with football Friday nights...
Well, I was hoping for a little more out of my 3 Amazon Smile purchases!

Just to clarify (Randy, Todd or others can correct me if I'm wrong with this), but I'm quite sure that what is being envisioned and proposed by Brands is a complex that will include mats/practice area, locker room, weight room, training rooms, offices, etc. Think of what Todd Conner presented in his blog. It will not have a competition arena - it would be cost-prohibitive to build a 15,000 seat arena that would be used for just a handful of events. All public wrestling events will still take place in CHA, as they should.
