For some reason hawks favored by 1

I have no idea what to expect tonight 🫤 but I did predict the hawks would win this game a few weeks ago so I’ll stick with that. Somehow they pull out a 73-70 classic.

When Filip sits who replaces him?
Does Kris play the 5?
Does Connor start?
Will TJD foul out our front line?

This doesn't look good on paper but that's why they play the games.

Hawks cannot afford to drop this game, especially at home. I think they will shoot well tonight and pull this out.

Vegas knows.

Iowa wins.
Iowa was like a 4 point favorite against Nebraska and got absolutely housed.

I just put money on Indiana. My gut tells me there's a possibility Iowa comes out hot for Patrick, like they did against ISU when everyone wrote them off. But always smart to hedge your fandom with your sports betting.

I won’t be disappointed if Iowa loses. Or poor.

With Ogundele & PMac out, we are down to 9 scholarship players.

If Dix can't go, we are down to 8.

Will Fran be forced to use Mulvey? I would imagine Fran will use at least one of the walk on guards (Kingsbury).

Ughhh....

My guess on the starters:

Ulis
Perkins
Kris
Connor
Filip

Leaving these 4 Scholarship Players Off the bench:

Payton (0 for 19 in B1G play)
Dasonte
Dix (if he can go)
Mulvey

Iowa sports often seem to do the opposite of what I expect, lol. They win a game, and look good doing it, just when I'm down on them. Or they'll dump a game they shouldn't when I'm riding high.

So... That means Iowa rallies around Pmac's absence and steals one from Indiana. That's my line of thinking!

Indiana hasn't played in two weeks. Their starting point guard and 2nd leading scorer is out. Hood-Schifino and TJD have both missed games recently due to back/hip issues (which always linger), and it's still a conference road game at 8:00 PM. And, Indiana hasn't looked great on the road recently. I could see Iowa playing inspired (Izzy calls it the "injury bump"; you never want to play a team right when key player goes down), hit some threes early (a la Iowa State), and maintain lead throughout. IU is inconsistent on offense at best, especially recently. I would press if I were Iowa as well. IU always looks shaky at best against it.

I threw 20 on the Indiana ML. That means Hawks by 20. LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I demand Perkins and Sandfort get their crap together and play up to their capabilities.

Payton has not made a shot in B1G play (he's 0 for 19). Not sure that has ever happened to an Iowa player, let alone any B1G player.

Hoping for a big game from him tonight. He's a great kid and deserves it. And Iowa needs him & his outside shooting.

GO HAWKS!!!

Can’t afford to drop? What does that even mean? The year is already toast. Unless you’re referring to NIT resume? Then yes I agree.

Patrick was shooting piss poor also. Hopefully Fran is smart enough to run only plays for the only 2 that can shoot - Kris and Filip.

10 threes???

Bobby Hansens's keys to the game:

* EVERYONE needs to be locked into the scouting report & READY TO GO WHEN YOUR NUMBER IS CALLED

* Race Thompson & Trayce Jackson Davis -- need to contain them

* Iowa needs to stay out of foul trouble

* Need huge game from Kris Murray (but he will be a marked man)

* Iowa needs 10 threes to win

Even though I am fully expecting to bail early on a game again tonight, I do take some slight pleasure in that before this game tips, Iowa and Illinois have the same B1G record. 0-3.

Doesn't mean I am happy that the Hawks are anything less than 3-0 right now, but I just really can't stand the Illini bball program and love that they are being forced to share basement space.

Purdue ball down one with 17.5 left. Purdue 3! 10.5 left!

Ohio State timeout with 6.4 left.

Purdue v tOSU a helluva game
Both Purdue and tOSU coaches calling time out as soon as they had the ball in the last 17 seconds to set up their go to play to their go to player.

examples of good end game coaching
