Iowa school voucher scam update: Private schools raising tuition up to 40%. Special ed services to public schools will have a 30 million dollar cut

For about the 1,000th time, how does the voucher program help public schools improve? At best only a small percentage of students will be able to attend private schools using vouchers - for capacity reasons if nothing else.
The intent of the bill was not to improve public schools. It was to allow families to leave schools that weren’t meeting their needs.
The capacity issue at private schools will improve with the new funding, but that will take time.

Why should public tax money go to improving private schools? And which "families" does it allow to leave schools not meeting their needs?

It’s not. The money is going to families. They are able to choose the school that best fits their needs. That may be different for each child and family. It’s unlocking the system of forcing families into their nearest public school, no matter how poor of a job they may do.

You’re only lying to yourself if you honestly believe private school capacity will increase by any significant amount.

School vouchers were pushed because of public schools supposedly not meeting their needs. In some cases that’s true, in others it’s not. But let’s leave that to one side for a moment. If you think a step beyond, how do you not see this becomes a continuous self-fulfilling prophecy? By taking money from public schools as vouchers for private schools, that then makes it harder for public schools to meet the needs of their remaining students. And so on.

Exactly! It's like asking someone to lift an impossibly heavy barbell, and with each failed attempt you cut off one of their fingers.

This voucher money needs to be “means tested” so only the more e continually disadvantaged are given the state’s money for tuition. Why should my tax money go to assist a kid whose parents are worth. Million dollars or more?

I am sure the private school parents and administrators are just clamoring to let in a bunch of lower-income families and have their exclusive schools look just like the public schools they once left.

I’m skeptical there will ever be any meaningful increase in capacity with these voucher programs.

You are such a simpleton. Teachers “indoctrinating” students with LGBTQ propaganda and whatever other dimwitted nonsense your feeble brain has concluded as “fact” are about as common as youth pastors sleeping with teenagers.
Probably not the best example, unfortunately. Seems like someone is posting one of those every week. :(

What if my nearby fire department doesn’t have the best response time? Can I “unlock” my money that would normally go to them so I can pay for private fire protection?

Or roads?
If the Iowa Legislature and Governor passes that law...then yes, yes you could.

That's false. It is a credit that goes to the school IF the student is accepted by the school. The choice is the school's, not the student or parent. You've been schooled on this many times before.

For the 2023 school year, there are 253 private schools serving 46,658 students in Iowa (there are 1,304 public schools, serving 498,629 students).

If private schools can grow by 10% to accommodate more students who aren't already attending that's 4700 new students who are being "deprived" of private school education at a cost of $345 million per year! That's over $73K per new student, per year. And that's if they can/will expand and accept 10% more students which is very unlikely. Instead, as we've already seen, they will raise tuition to grow their revenues.

This is a $345 million subsidy for the parents of 46K+ students who already attend private schools.

It’s adorable that you believe this. The fact that private schools are raising tuition, like we told you they would, shows the grift. This is free tax payer dollars for families who don’t need it. You’ve been wrong and people like me have been spot on throughout this.

Believe me, they’re not. It’s part of why they raised tuition. Poor people STILL can’t afford it. Grift.

He refused to learn because his school is making out like a bandit.

Private schools raise tuition every year. Always have, always will.

You know who else wants more money every year? Public schools.
An organization that handles increasing numbers of educational challenges along in environments void of investment for years and years is asking for more money to help address? You don't say.

What we do know with this legislation is that those who can afford private school will be getting a subsidy as will the private schools themselves. This was never about improving education for children.

Do that many kids want their kids sodomized by priests? Hmmm...who knew?

Nearly 350 public educators were arrested on child sex-related crimes in the U.S. last year, averaging to almost an arrest every day on crimes ranging from grooming to child porn to raping students, Fox News Digital has found.

350 out of over 4,000,000 teachers which is less than .001%.
