******Iowa St vs Iowa Game Thread******

May need some “hard fouls” on Gilbert to knock him on his azz when he drives the lane.
Bobby Hansen says yes. And so do I. One thing this Iowa team lacks, so far, is the in-your-face attitude of Connor McCaffrey. The Iowa women have most, if not all, of their freshmen who bring attitude. And you need attitude unless your talent level is off the charts. And it doesn't hurt even then.

So maybe Traore, Koch, and Harding--maybe even Freeman--can bring the aggressive attitude and hit the boards and play defense like their lives depended on it. Playing soft has almost always been a problem for Fran's teams. For this one to succeed, it cannot play soft, especially against ISU. The Hawkeyes need to bring it tonight. Leave soft to the ice cream.

Auburn, Dayton, and Marquette tried that even busting him open twice and he still scored 23, 24, and 24. He gets pissed when that happens and it does not end well for the other team. Because besides going off he completely locks up whoever he is guarding after that as well. I'm going to say that is probably not the best idea.

We have to shoot a good % from the field and FT line. If we don't, the Clones will win big.

I have a holiday party tonite.....kind of glad. I will record it and see if I want to watch it but I am thinking we lose by 10-15 points. Glad it's at home but they should not have a problem with our boys. I REALLY hope I am wrong.

yes. they are scary good.

Bill Raftery on the call tonight. That's kinda cool I guess.

If Peyton shoots us out of this one early and often there ain't gonna be no coming back like vs Michigan. If he's brickin' 'em I hope for once he defers and just facilitates ... best he can.

I love me some Raftery. Easily my favorite commentator in college bball.

The fact that he is doing the game will keep me from going back and forth with Thursday Night Football.

That being said, if Iowa gets down 20......I'll watch the better product

6:30pm FS1

ISU -6.5
O/U 159.5

It’s pretty simple, Iowa needs to make open shots, rebound and play some semblance of defense.

I doubt they can those three things effectively so I’m seeing 87-78 Iowa St.
And maybe shoot +70% from the line? FT shooting has been brutal this year. Three of the last 4 under 60% and they're 310th in the country at 66% for the season.

Could be a lot of national eyeballs on this one tonight, as the only other televised - aka, non-streaming - game on tonight is Bethune-Cookman @ Virginia, @ 6p on the ACCN.

(please don't lose huge tonight and look reallllllly bad in doing so, Hawks)
