That was the perfect Iowa defensive "effort" to close out the season. And, hopefully, the final game of the Fran era.

Astounding stat:
Only one Iowa starter went to the free throw line today. And only two other players shot free throws....only one of which sees regular minutes.

Meanwhile every Illinois starter and two reserves had trips to the line.

I can understand why Fran got a tech. Dix was getting called for touch fouls by the muscular midget in stripes. Both of his first half fouls were questionable. Meanwhile, Illannoy players could clear the way for boards whenever they wanted. Outscored 24-5 on FTs. Nearly doubled in rebounds. Kind of amazing Iowa didn't lose by more.

If she had of walked down behind the Iowa bench and yelled some "words of encouragement" at Fran and the refs, Fran likely wouldn't have got ran & Iowa might have had a shot late.
