Can’t wait to see the grades after this meet. Hopefully this gets us out of 3rd gear. Felt like we coasted a bit tonight and got into some bad positions. These guys gotta wake up or they will get slapped by PSU.
On the bright side it’s still January and our full lineup was out there (minus 125, but we gotta get past that) and that hasn’t happened much this year. I don’t think Tom will be happy with this, I’d be interested in seeing his post match. Agitated might be an understatement.

I really missed Ironside the last 2 duals. Glad to have him back. Nobody I love listening to more. Passionate and brutally honest.

Well that was mildly depressing. Positives Desanto, Kem & Cass. Riddler, Murin and showed flashes. Ayala made a few True Freshman mistakes and will get better. I have a lot of faith in him. Bull loses his 2nd BIG dual match of his career. Warner chased a guy for what seemed to be an hour and gassed at the end. Assad looked like the aggressor but just not quite there yet. Kaleb didn’t look bad but not great either. Tonight’s performance has no chance at beating psu but we got time.
We’ve had a few guys the last few years who seem to be content to let the match ride on one takedown.
I don’t understand how even our top guys, except Desanto and to an extent Kem, look so lethargic compared to last year. Eierman and Marinelli are my biggest concerns as they don’t seem to have the fire in this extra year. I hope they prove me wrong in March.

it’s hard to keep the fire for 6-7 years. college wrestling is a grind and the younger, hungrier guys catch up.

Each of our 4 losses tonight we’re decided either in SV (Drake and Abe) or points with less than 20 seconds to go. Karchla late TD and Sasso late reversal. Shows how close this was to an Iowa shutout. I know, you gotta finish, but trying to find some positives.
Dang you guys are quick to flee the vessel …. Iowa has a great team and your guys win close matches often. A lot of positives tonight if I’m an Iowa fan. Murin is right there, Kemerer looked best yet, Assad right there, Warner being Warner but getting his hand raised as usual, Ayala is gonna be awesome. Idc what happens between now and then, barring any starters getting injured, the NCAA championship is gonna be close as can be.
