Utah State (4-0) is 49th ranked Kenpom and averaging 100+ pts per game. Granted they haven’t played a P5 team yet.

I think the hawks struggle tonight and get their first L of the season.

The games that I saw on YouTube, Utah St. plays a trapping 2 - 3 zone exclusively and were very good with it against the 4 teams that they annihilated. They play 4 guards and either a 6-8 forward or a 7 footer. Their press is similar to Iowa's as they use it to slow down the game. Brock, Drew, Josh, Traore, and the Sandford brothers better be on their game for Iowa to pull off a win. This is Utah St. first game away from home so Iowa will see if that affect them to any extent. Freeman should dominate in the post and if Iowa is hitting it's 3's it should be a heck of a game. Iowa is definitely an upgrade in talent that Utah St. has seen so far. Go Hawks.

Aggies first road game and first against a P5 opponent. They've beaten one team (Charlotte 3-1) with a winning record. They like to run and score quickly, as do the Hawks. I'm hoping that Iowa does indeed have a step up in talent over Utah St., and we have a deeper bench, although they have several players that can score in the double digits. We need to keep their stud, Ian Martinez, a 6'3" guard under control. Should be our closest game, but I'll go with the Hawks for the W.

I will be glad when the additional playing years given to players because of the Covid pandemic are over. You realize that C. J. Fredrick is still playing for U. of Cincinnati. That's 3 years with Iowa, I think 2 years with Kentucky, and now 2 years with Cincinnati. Unbelievable!

He's from the class of 2018, which means this is his 7th year of college.

My usual take, this game comes down to rebounding. The team that rebounds better, especially offensive rebounds, wins this game. Need to shoot well and not turn the ball over, need Dix back too.

CJ's best season was his RS-FR year. Too many injuries, and he never was especially quick before them. So far he's a role player this year.

First half will be so important. I've heard the players talk about their new identity. They've put 3 consecutive halves under their belt so far, can they continue it tonight?

Quite excited for this one. Also first time this season not seeing them live.
