During the post game press conference, while answering a question from the media, Keegan responded:

"I think for us, it's really just on next year, go through the off-season again, get better. We put a stamp on this program, uh, I feel like positively, um so, go in the off season and work"

Read into that what you want, but I think he just possibly announced his return to the team next season!

I demand that he return next season.

Thank you.

I don't think he returns but I think despite decent stats today, this loss will probably hurt his draft stock at least a little. Could fall out of the top 10, maybe out of the top 15.

Honest question: anyone think he cost himself some money with today's performance?

I’ll believe it when I hear it from Keegan that he’s decided to come back to Iowa for another year. Until then I’m sure he’s just feeling bad and disappointed. Do what is best for Keegan after you’ve had time to evaluate everything that’s most important to you. Don’t be dissuaded by losing a basketball game. Follow your heart to wherever it leads you

Keegan should go if he is as high a draft pick as projected. That being said he did get exposed a bit today. This was a game he should have taken over and he disappeared. Great player and nothing but the best for him. He might have slipped some in the draft

He doesn’t want the abuse JBO is suffering on twitter right now.

I thought there was no chance, but after today idk. Nothing to do with the way he played, he’ll be a high draft pick, just don’t know if he wants to go out as a Hawk like this
Even before today, i thought there was a strong chance he returns. Short of a deep run this year, the talk was always about leaving their stamp on the program… im not sure that happens in one year.

That’s what we do. You’d think we’d be a little more used to it.

Yep. Call me crazy...more and more I sort of wish Iowa sucked in football and MBB. Every positive play and every win would just be bonuses. Lower expectations that are easier to exceed, rather than this slow motion gut punch in both sports every season. A punch you know is coming because fate balls its fist in game 1.

Keegan will have NIL $$$ on the table. Hot take, I know

As much as we want Keegan to play another year...His Dad is no fool. At 22 years old this year...and being on every single Top 10 draft board you do not risk injury and literally throwing away $10+ million and generational wealth that you only get 1 shot at in life to play another season in Iowa city.

Would be completely irrational.

Think Chet Holmgren or Ivey at Purdue will be coming back and look at some NIL deal? Heck no.

Let's just take a step back and think about it. Become a Top 10 lottery pick and play in NBA making enough money that your kids kids will never have to worry again....or get a historic $1 mil NIL deal for a year to play in Iowa city...risking injury...and having to do promotions for the Wig and Pen all year?

I don’t think he dropped. But Iowa not having multiple games in the tournament cost him opportunities to rise, thereby costing him money. A deep run led by him similar to the BTT performances could have pushed him up into top 5 territory. Melo was a big deal in the regular season, but his run to the title at Syracuse pushed him up to #3, and he should have been #2 in that draft behind Lebron. Wade’s run at Marquette that same year is probably an even better example as it did the same thing for him pushing him up to #5 where he was probably only top 10 prior to the tourney.

Dude did I say he was going to return. No. I said he doesn't return but this game likely will hurt his draft stock. Take a chill pill and read bro.

This is the problem with Iowa athletics in general. Catch lightening in a bottle once in awhile for short bursts but the top to bottom talent is never enough to sustain it

He's said multiple times that he wants to change Iowa basketball.

Don't blame him, if NBA $ is calling tho

Lot of people setting themselves up for big disappointment. He has no reason to come back.
I want him to come back as bad as anyone but it would make me sick and nauseous for months if something happened to him playing another year for the Hawks.

Garza I totally understood honestly bc he wasn't getting drafted 1st rd...He knew that.

Talking about Lottery here. Keegan I've seen anywhere from 5th-10th in nearly every mock draft. Guaranteed $8mil-$15 mil the day he's drafted.
