Ironside said 238 I thinkNo, I thought 237
this is what I feel as well.He has gained the weight he can, his lanky frame makes it tougher. I don't see any way football would be saying stay below 240.
But that's the new 250!Ironside said 238 I think
No, I thought 237
265 lbs. is the number for wrestling and football. And hand on the ground is where he needs to go for football.
Imagine thinking he recently weighed in at 250. Maybe open one of the 50 posts where someone mentions what he weighed in at.Didn’t he recently weigh in at 250?
They do…. Often.HWC needs to bring somebody in for Kueter to train with. He doesn’t have any big guys on his level to push him in the room. This is why Cass also developed slower than his competition. I know Ben can put on more pounds, but I wonder if football is keeping him under 240? Pay cox to come train for two months!
Well good for you! You stand by it. SMHI will stand by my allegation that Ben Kueter is no Lou Banach. Or, for that matter, he is no Bruce Baumgartner.
What random fans think matters none. Many aren't Iowa fans and are here causing trouble. I know it's difficult when people bash Ben but just ignore it and stay positive. My advice would be log off the forum and don't log back in until Ben is done competing.Well good for you! You stand by it. SMH
I know this and yet here I am. 🙈. It’s SO tough when you see the other side of it. The eating, the lifting, training, the mental side of this sport is brutal, getting good grades, taking care of your body, etc. it’s often lonely and you have to make good choices. I ALWAYS tell my boys “pressure is a privilege but unfortunately it comes with alot of outside noise”. I asked Ben yesterday of he was still having fun and he said, “I hate losing”. This was during his second dinner 🤣.What random fans think matters none. Many aren't Iowa fans and are here causing trouble. i noticed you said boys - is there another young kueter on the way to becoming a Hawkeye?I know this and yet here I am. 🙈. It’s SO tough when you see the other side of it. At any rate, I appreciate all of the support he gets and don’t mind at all, the comments about “let’s get on our offense” or “or the weight comments” or “move your feet” “create angles” things like that. I know what he is capable of, it seems at each new milestone we have to find our way. Even me apparently 🤣🤣🤣
It’s like the Godfather movie , “Just when I thought I was out, they keep pulling me back in” 🤣.
I’m a fighter so it’s tough for me stay off but I will try and work on it.
I have to go, meeting him at 11:30 church.
I was thinking about Banach as a similar body type for Keuter to emulate. A little more in the legs, able to hoist Baumgartner. But the similarity is size and athleticism. If Keuter can develop that pace, look out. He knows it, but he still needs to do it.I will stand by my allegation that Ben Kueter is no Lou Banach. Or, for that matter, he is no Bruce Baumgartner.
Ma’am don’t worry about what turds on here say, Ben will improve and enjoy success as a Hawk. Luffman has been wrestling D-1 for 5 years and is savvy. Ben has the athleticism and the more active he is, he’s going to score. A few more seconds on the clock and he finishes that last TD attempt. Hes right there. I anticipate him being a bracket buster type at B10s. Next week is another big test vs tOSU. Let’s go Ben!!!!I know this and yet here I am. 🙈. It’s SO tough when you see the other side of it. So you are saying he will be a low seed at B10s? Not very complimentary Ma'am.Ma’am don’t worry about what turds on here say, Ben will improve and enjoy success as a Hawk. Exactly! Dan told him after the match that he didn’t lose, he ran out of time. Told him to remember that and attack earlier. We don’t need a whole period to feel a guy out. This. There are plenty of better upper weight coaches out there that Iowa could get, but look how much worse specifically Hill and Glazier are this year vs previously in their careers. He must be doing something better than other coaches.I have no dog in this race but AA hardware and development from guys like Hill and Glazier seem to tell a different story.
I don’t wear black and gold colored glasses. I call it like I see it. Ben is very athletic and talented, but thus far has struggled against larger, experienced heavyweights. There are quite a few of those in the B10s. Steveson, Kerk, Feldman, Slavikouski, Heindselman, and Luffman are all ranked higher than Ben currently. Bullock and Nevills are both big, tough heavies. B10s is absolutely loaded at Hwt. Can Ben knock some of these guys off between now and March? Absolutely, but he could also be looking at a 7-10 seed at B10s.So you are saying he will be a low seed at B10s? Not very complimentary Ma'am.
Which in case of a 7 thru 10 seed a bracket buster...?I don’t wear black and gold colored glasses. I call it like I see it. Hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see him anywhere near a top five guy. He’s just got a long way to go.you will see a different band after his lungs get blown out a couple more times. Anybody that’s crashing on him right now. I was gonna be eating crow here in two months. He’s a top five guy definitely this year assuming no injuries.
Once you understand that half the posters just Google crap to phuq with others the better it is. Don't take this board seriously. Gable Steveson is the modern day Baumgartner and Banach. Gable is 265. Ben is probably a Top 6-15 Heavyweight as a Redshirt Freshman at his current weight. Because of the Covid year, the current HWT class is brutal.I was thinking about Banach as a similar body type for Keuter to emulate. A little more in the legs, able to hoist Baumgartner. We’re a bit early to put the B10 bracket together on 01/19, but I think he improves as the season goes along and ends up outperforming his seed at B10.Which in case of a 7 thru 10 seed a bracket buster...?
I completely agree that's why I mentioned a question mark to a bracket buster. To me that's demeaning to BK to even post that. Huge opportunity to be a high seed and thus not a bracket buster. We’re a bit early to put the B10 bracket together on 01/19, but I think he improves as the season goes along and ends up outperforming his seed at B10.
Realistically it’s going to be very tough to get a high seed with that loss to Luffman. He’s still got Kerk, Gable, Feldman (already beat Luffman 7-3), and Nevills from Maryland in conference. Heinseldman from Michigan (won Midlands and looked great, taking out Bullock from Indiana in the finals) and the Rutgers kid is also a stud, Ben won’t get a chance to face either one in the regular season, so he’d have to hope Luffman beats them in order to out seed them. Very tough road for him, he’d make me nervous if I was another B10 coach, because he’s going to keep getting better.I completely agree that's why I mentioned a question mark to a bracket buster. Last year 7 from B10s qualified with 1 at large so 8-10 is going to be a gamble to get to the dance? Would feel more comfortable not being a 8-10 seed going into Bigs.Realistically it’s going to be very tough to get a high seed with that loss to Luffman. Well then Big Ben needs to upset Feldman. Kerk and Gable? C’mon let’s be real. The B10 will however allocate more than 7 this year. The weight is stacked.Last year 7 from B10s qualified with 1 at large so 8-10 is going to be a gamble to get to the dance? Would feel more comfortable not being a 8-10 seed going into Bigs.

Speaking of Kerkvliet - he was also undersized initially as a HWT. Cassioppi majored Kerkvliet initially. The next year matches got closer, and eventually Kerkvliet grew into the HWT class and became the dominant HWT he is now. Keuter is only a freshman and needs to grow into the HWT class.Have watched a number of Kueter matches, some thoughts. Kueter has very limited leg and hip power/strength. Hip and leg strength are a principle platform for generating power forward; lateral, backward; rotation; and for balance. In my view, all these qualities form an essential founation for combative athletics.
Seldom see a powerful hip elevation/explosion from Kueter. Think back to Matt Fields. And try not to think of Steveson, or Kerkvliet.
I’m not talking for only two months. I’m talking for the next few years. Not sure how you calculated where I said two months but people do try to put words in mouths here.2 months? Nah pay Cox to be a full time coach. Hes a been there done that outside the program guy that would bring in new blood.

Posters haven't been doing this regarding Ben. 99% of those who've been critical of his performances are huge fans who'd love nothing more than to see him succeed. This is a fan message board, where people come to discuss their observations, opinions and occasionally vent. It's not intended to be a way to communicate directly to athletes or parents. If parents don't like the things they see on here, by all means they're welcome to express that... but they shouldn't expect message board posters to stop doing what they do.Once you understand that half the posters just Google crap to phuq with others the better it is. Don't take this board seriously. However, there are also many passionate and informative posters.
