Looking good early. But Lordy, the officiating is typical of the women's game. A couple of really putrid calls that benefitted the Hawks.

3 straight pass attempts to Monika in the post and 3 straight turnovers. This team is really good and has a lot of potential, but there is nothing more frustrating to watch. When Monika can get the ball against an undersized defender, it's an automatic bucket. Don't force it if the pass isn't there.

Refs need to let the women play. No whistle unless a hard foul. This ticky tack stuff makes these games hard to watch. Iowa just called for a foul and I’m not sure anyone was touched.

How have the gals won as many games as they have? No help defense, can’t keep players in front of them, bad turnovers...looked like a decent high school team tonight.
They've had one of the easier schedules in the top 50 - it was pointed out at the start of the 2nd half I think.

Watched the last 5 minutes + OT. Hard to believe Caitlin Clark is a true freshman - you can tell she plays the game at a higher level. Reminds me of Bridget Carleton. Really good player!

They got what they deserved. Defense was poor. Couldn’t stop a drive to the basket. Got beat to loose balls and had way too many turnovers.

No one that can dribble through a press.

She makes shots but still too many turnovers. And she's clearly got some maturing to do as she frequently whines and throws her arms up in mini tantrums.

Turnovers and bad defense, typical reasons the Iowa women lose

They looked like a poorly prepared team and lack of energy in the 2nd half. A lot of standing and watching on both ends. Didn't attack the press enough. Could of had a lot of layups if they would have.

The last possession in regulation was awful. You make sure at worst you go to overtime and don't give the other team a chance to win at the end. Clark shot the ball with 17 seconds left and a terrible shot as well.

In OT, I think I would have had a 1-4 low set and let Clark attack. You don't settle for a 24 footer.

I have watched most all the games this year. Caitlin Clark is a special player!!! Am I the only one that thinks her defensive effort is lacking? She is fun to watch when she gets the ball in her hands.

Defense is severely lacking. Does not not stay in her stance and likes to take one step and reach. She could get away with it in high school, but has a lot of work to do on the defensive end.

Unfortunately makes freshman mistakes. The shot she took on last possession of regulation wasn’t a good shot and Bluder wasn’t happy. She also needs to calm down some on the court and stop getting so upset with teammates. Hell of a player though.

Turnovers at the end of regulation were unreal. Just winging it cross-court, hardly even looking for a tOSU defender, etc. Unbelievably careless with the ball. Frustrating to watch, because without the implosion down the stretch they very likely notch a quality win (even if tOSU was missing their top scorer).

Caitlin is a great offensive talent and I'm sure glad she's a Hawk, but even with her they're a mediocre team. The good news is that lots of their numerous mistakes are correctable, and there is some talent on this team. I wish them the best and hope they clean up their play. Maybe make the tournament and win a game or two.

Agree 110% with all of this! And hate to pick on a kid cuz they’re busting their hind ends but Gabby Marshall had a brutal last 10 minutes and OT. But overall watching time after time a girl would get absolutely smoked and nobody would rotate on defense—almost like they were looking at each other wondering who else was going to take care of it.

This reminds me, Doyle used to do that too when she was a freshman and sophomore. I hope Caitlin learns fast!

That was a double dribble on OSU last effort ... you can’t lose the ball after dribbling then pick it up and dribble again
That was incredible. I'm not sure I've seen a more obvious missed call. Had it been called Iowa would have had a last possession at the end of regulation.

Both Doyle and Logic had quite a few turnovers throughout their careers. It’s not a bad trade off in the long run.
Turnovers for sure. I also remember Doyle used to throw tantrums too. Can't remember if Logic did that or not but that was a long while ago.

I said the same thing during the game with 3 sec. left. And I didn't see our coaching staff say a word. Maybe there is rule if you stop or lose your dribble you can role the ball back down the court and pick it up and start dribbling it again... Impossible for THREE refs not to see this so we must be wrong!!!

Clark is a great player but seems like a spoiled brat. And I'm pretty sure her teammates don't care for her bossing them around like she does.

Caitlin is fantastic. As others have noted, her defense is pretty suspect.

I don't know that they are poorly prepared. They have athletic deficiencies, which get exposed against teams like Ohio State. When you are slower, shorter and not as strong as your opponent, you have to do everything right. And Iowa did not. They just don't quite have enough to beat good teams.
