Lineup for Nebraska?

Huh? GA isn’t a 184. It doesn’t make sense to keep trying to push him up a weight. How much more consistent and concise can I get?

It started with you calling someone else high for even asking if he might wrestle 184 for a match, and then after it was pointed out to you he’s already done this, you switched to “well it would be kinda tough…”. That’s a classic goalpost move.

And now it’s “well it wouldn’t make sense” when actually it makes perfect sense. It’s a max 2 matches. He will survive and be just fine, if not better for it. You know, just like he was the first time he did it.

My predictions are simple Manning will be crying and whining the whole time. Terry will be supporting some new shades, Bull will be sitting with AJ in the stands teaching him how to act in public and Hawks win 7 matches and lose 3.
Nebby is stacked top to bottom - it’s gonna be closer than that. We need franek to get a dub for sure

I’m calling that we see Gabe at 174 for Illinois and Penn state match - mark it.

Most every true frosh has some early struggles. It’s ok.
I don’t think hill is that bad - looks tough out there. Not exactly a top ten guy but still no easy out for a frosh that’s in football shape.

Gabe said he doesn’t want to go at 184. I heard it with my own ears.

Yeesh. Buddy…take the L.

I was working under the stated 330# on his football page.

No one is losing 45# in a month, otherwise.

Who knew Nebby lied about his listed weight?

It’s been 6 weeks and the dude was fat as hell in football. Between that and water weight it isn’t a big shock. But he might have also been lighter than listed.

BTW, UNI isn’t good and they damn near beat NE. I’d hope Iowa can win.

He was 330. Jden Cox has said he can lose 10lbs in an hour workout. Plus to stay that size Nash is eating a mega calorie diet . He was 296 after practice on Thursday

There’s no L. Gabe himself said he’s not comfortable at 184 because he’s too short for that weight and wants to go at 174 (and the ISU match was a one-off). You can say well, he’ll do another one off again to win another dual, but what dual is it not better for the team score for him to bump? If you say well, he’ll bump up for this one to help win the dual for Nebraska and for Penn State and for Ok State and for Wisconsin, etc, when is he going to wrestle 174 to get ready for the post season? I’ll refrain from the personal attacks over it, but I’d be shocked if Gabe wrestles 184 again this season.

The bottom line is that Gabe wants to be 174 and he wants to go after Starocci. Unless he can’t beat PK for the spot, that’s where he should be wrestling and what he should be allowed to do.

Isnt he the one that won like 4 championships in South Dakota?
Five titles
166-0 pinning his last 73 guys, 71 of them in the first period.
Lost to Cassioppi 3-1 in the finals at folkstyle nationals.

Wrestled against Wyoming yesterday, and had a first period pin, I'm 2:02 I think.

I believe he was 286 after practice. That was from willie saylor.

Also, tere isn't a guy on Iowa or Nebraska's roster that weigh what the roster says. Height is similar.
He lost close to 40, and wrestled in the dual yesterday, I was there.

Doesn’t want and won’t are not the same. If sub just provides the link with the ‘won’t’ comment this could all be resolved. Until then it’s deflection, denial and moving goal posts. The recent troll visitors from way out east are familiar with that tactic.

Willie said 286 which was Friday the day before. I said Thursday. Willie talks to Bryan daily and Nash was 330 after football

Gotcha, sorry my days were mixed up.

Either way, if you wrestled, you know that is a doable cut for a 325 pound man.

Remember, with no bowl, his last day of football, was the last regular season game.

No big deal . Exactly plus I imagine he was eating massive amounts of food to stay that big. And as we know nothing is like a wrestling workout

Unless the new coach changed how the do it out west their listing on the roster is pretty close to what they measure out at the combine. Usually under an inch difference and within ten pounds or less

I think that some of you better look at the Des Moines Sunday Sports Section in regards to the Gabe Arnold write up.

I would guess he was never that big. He said he lost 40, but even that was maybe exagerated.

Under Frost and Duval 2 years ago he probably was, but this past football season, he played with a markedly better body reshape, and it helped his play a lot.

Which isn’t a thing in college wrestling. Awful, awful call.
No it wasnt, did you watch it?
It wasnt a touch fall.
Silas got in a weird position where he was basically sitting on him, and had one leg almost like a navy ride, and was intentionally lifting, and sitting, and when you're pinned, you're pinned, regardless how it happens.

This. And it was SIX WEEKS since his last game. So
very doable. No idea why this is debated.

This is a ton of words to just simply agree that dub was taking words out of context and try to use them to dunk on people.

Yes I did. It was a quick count. Crappy call.
