March 14 Joe Lunardi / ESPN Bracketology: IOWA is on the Bubble (7th Team OUT). #59 NET Ranking (8th Best in B1G) on March 14

Utah played its way out last night. If they beat Oregon on Saturday and win a couple games in PAC12 Tourney then they will be on the cutline again. PAC12 is another conference to watch for bid thieves mainly they only have 2-3 teams projected in. Also root for the Beavers against Colorado Saturday. If Oregon State wins that I might be a Big Beaver fan for life!
Too many if/thens! ;)

All these Bracketologist have Iowa near the cutline. Pretty clear that if we beat Illinois then we are probably in good shape but another win or2 would be icing on the cake! I never knew there were so many of these Experts out there!
I think 2 more wins and we're in (regardless of how they come), and the only thing that 100% definitively shuts us out would be losing 2 in a row to end the season.

Yeah, it's kinda crazy how many do bracket forecasts.

Interesting how Memphis is not getting more respect in the bracket matrix yet (except the 98th rated sell-out Lunardi, I guess, I don't pay attention to him). I saw a bracketology type show a couple weeks ago, and when Memphis was mentioned by one guy, the rest laughed it off and immediately moved on. I guesss their bad NET would be a problem, but it's at least higher than the 77 Rutgers had to sneak in one year.

Their metrics are pretty bad and they have a Q3 & a Q4 loss. Hard to see them getting an at-large without a win today and a run to the AAC title game. Of course, they are one of the few teams I could see being a bid stealer by winning the American tournament, but that's a different conversation.

Miss St just lost their fourth straight. Granted, three of those were vs ranked teams. They're still in but a 5th straight loss in the SEC tournament to LSU might put some doubt into it.

At the very least if we do beat Illinois they're a team we could leapfrog to get out of Dayton.

Air Force is trying to hang around with Colorado State. Colorado State has been slowly extending their lead after being tied at half.

Colorado comfortable leading on the road in the first half.

So, we need to root against Drake today?
Ok.
NW hammered Minny last nite.
Not sure that we want NW in tourney but they are different away from home.

Here are today's NET Rankings.

Iowa is #57 in the NET and 3-8 in Quad 1 games.

A win tonight over #15 NET Illinois would be HUGE, of course.
