Two lousy teams tonight in Carver. Minny (10-10, 1-6) has yet to win on the road. Iowa (12-6, 3-4) has lost 2 straight and is 5-5 in last 10 games.

With the cold weather I’d guess 3000 in attendance tonight.

3000 actual attendance seems really low for a Big10 conference game. My family went to a Lickliter game at Carver vs Purdue during the Xmas holiday years ago and attendance had to be way over 3000 with no students. Interesting Factoid: I think it was the game Lil Lick was posterized for getting his layup attempt blocked .

We didn't have to pay because someone just gave us tickets rather than watch that Licliter B-ball.

These Hawks are way more exciting/competitive than Lickliter era teams at home.

Does Garcia hit 30 pts or does someone bash him in nutz again? I think we win, but if we don't we could be on verge of collapse if Fran sticks to his guns on small ball.

Some Minny scub will be 10-10 from the 3 pt line.

With the cold and late start, doubt there will be over 5,000 there. The baseline of tickets sold appears to be in the 7,500 range based on previous games this season

The only reason Iowa beat Minnie last year at Carver was because Garcia was kneed in the groan and had to sit out for most of the 2nd half. He is a beast and makes everyone on that team better then they are. It's going to be a tall task for Iowa to pull off a win tonight. Cannot afford to have long stretches' of empty offense and Iowa has to avoid leaving open 3 shooters uncovered as Iowa did on the west coast.
Someone from the bench is going to have to step it up and fill the gap left by the absents of Payton. will it be Pryce or Dembele and it will be interesting if Mulvey gets any minutes tonight, after getting minutes in the Michigan game he was MIA until the UCLA game in which he played quite admiralty for 8 minutes in the 2nd half, he deserves to see minutes despite some on here saying he's worthless. Brauns is how you spell worthless....

Mulvey would get absolutely abused by Garcia. Can't guard him on the perimeter and too slow off the bounce to be effective down low. One dribble and he will blow by him for easy buckets. Mulvey is more question than answer. We will see if Owen can stay out of foul trouble tonight. I'd play Tadjo before Mulvey. Much more physical and quicker.

Pretty much a must win, if Iowa wants to finish in the top half of the B1G and dance. Someone will need to guard Garcia and rebound.
So you're saying the season will effectively be over after tonight, if the Hawks lose.

Got it. Already knew that, but good to have confirmation.

But IF the Hawks lose tonight, it's gonna be another 0-2 week, both at home this time. Book it.

I’ve got the night free of any responsibility, 3 minute drive, dirt cheap tix and very little desire to go.
Still deciding if I want to go and pay $12 for beer.

Why would Mulvey guard Garcia. Wouldn’t it be Freeman if they both started? Or you play zone?

Minnesota did just beat Michigan, but it's true: The Gophers are not good, so it should be quite a battle . . .
This talk that Minnesota is no good is dumber than dogshit . They beat a ranked Michigan team last week and their 7 footer Dawson Garcia is one of the better players in the Big Ten. We can beat them but we will have to play 40 solid minutes. Last year we fell behind by 20 in the first half at Carver and then rallied to win it in the 2nd half. Hopefully we start better tonight. Go Hawks !
